It's supposedly taken from Donte Moss's myspace page, it was posted at the bottom of the 2nd page of this thread, after he committed to UNC.

So I just watched a highlight video of Jomantas from one of his games this year. He will easily be the tallest player on the field nearly every game. He's got a mean streak in him, but doesn't play dirty, which makes sense since he originally played defensive end. He moves well and has good footwork, which is probably due to his basketball background. He will definitely need to put on some weight though to take on BCS level defensive ends if he stays at offensive tackle, but he'd be fine right now as a tight end. I'm happy that the coaches offered him, even though he went almost unnoticed by the scouts. His other offers were from Ohio, Ball State and Kansas.

Besides Crisp, who in this recruiting class are you excited about? I'm excited about Thomas Teal. Supposedly he was almost unblockable at the Shrine Bowl practices and game.

Winkles... funny name for a FB, but looking forward to see what he can do, sounds like a tough kid

Amerson... stated above

Palmer... speed, been a long time coming but it looks like he'll be here in Jan with two years left to play

Creecy... built for the slot, can make the tough catch over the middle

In the Shrine Bowl game the NC team constantly double teamed Teal.

If we are to succeed in elevating this program we need to do a better job of locking up the top talent. And if this state as a whole is going to be taken seriously when it comes to football then the other programs better do their part in keeping the best talent in-state. South Carolina and Clemson lose very few players ranked in the top ten in SC. We actually did pretty well this year. According to Rivals mid-season Top 30, we secured 4 of the top 10, and 5 of the top 18. I imagine if they ever update it for the end of the season then Wilkins would end up on there, which would give us 6 of the Top 30. According to the Charlotte Observer's top 25, which was recently updated after the Shrine Bowl game, we have 3 of the top 10, and 6 of the top 22 in the state. That's nice and all, but imagine if we could keep some of those others like Keenan Allen home, as well as grabbing some of the best from the surrounding states, like Teal.

11 of the Charlotte Observer's top 25 are going out of state, with three of those being in the top 5. Hopefully Shembo and Moore will change their minds about Notre Dame.

We need to start putting more than 5-7 W's on the board each year before the 'top talent' takes us serious.

^^ True. Keenan Allen said in an interview during the Shrine Bowl game that one reason he chose Alabama was b/c he wanted to go to a program that was already established and wasn't building.

we're never gonna be able to consistently compete with the Alabamas and Floridas of the world. But if we can start to consistently win 8-9 games a year, we'll be able to keep a few more kids in state than normal. But if Alabama or Florida come calling for the top 5 players in the state, we're more than likely gonna lose em

UF used to be terrible. Well terrible is probably the wrong word, but they were an afterthought when it came to football b/c UM and FSU dominated. UF was getting beat so bad by Miami that they stopped their series, and just now tried to get it started again, b/c they see that they are good now and Miami hasn't been their usual self, so they wanted to win some against the Canes and start thumping their chest. UF wasn't the dominant program that they are now until Spurrier came there. We can become the football school in this state, but we've got to start winning. That task will be harder if we can't lock up some of the top talent in the state. Thankfully we've got Crisp, Creecy, and Amerson headed in this year. Hopefully Hunter can make it in too.

I know it seems like Mustafa Greene has us and Rutgers as his top two choices, but although he has family from the NY/NJ area, I think we have a good advantage in that we are closer to where his parents live and we don't have 3-4 guys committed that can play RB like Rutgers does. It makes more sense for him to come here since the competition for playing wouldn't be as much.

I don't want Parks. He's too small and too slow. He's productive in HS, but how many 5'6 backs have been productive in a BCS conference? How many of those ran a 4.7?

So Akinniyi, Fergusson, Overgarrd and Roberson are enrolling early.

Weren't there supposed to be some other? Particularly Crisp (and Singer), didn't they transfer HS so they could graduate early?

TA McClendon was one of the best backs in the country his freshman year and he was a midget by normal RB standards. I don't know his exact stats, but he was short and not especially fast.

It was like hitting a brick wall anytime you tried to tackle him. It was a physically painful task.

Yeah and Spurrier weakend UF's out of conference schedule so much that they were guaranteed three wins a year (they still got their shit pushed in by the 90s FSU teams). UF has some horrible streak going where they have not played an out of conference road game (other than FSU) since like 1989 and have not played an out of the conference game west of the Mississippi since the 60s or something.

Zook and Meyer have kept things status quo by playing the Citadel, Charleston, other cupcakes, etc every year. Yeah the SEC is tough, but once you get to UF's level you should try and play at least another BCS conference team occasionally. It is not like FSU is good anymore either so they have 4 easy wins every year. Alabama played VT, Georgia played OkSt, Auburn played USC, etc. UF gets pass. Fuck the Gators.

According to PP Bryan Underwood firmed up his commitment with us, so that's good to hear that he got his academics in order. He'll be a good slot receiver for us.
