feeling like hot ass today. i hate being sick in the summer.

friday - work, go home, relax a little, cook dinner, have some wine, clean up a little. start the prep for tomorrow's dinner party. probably make the dessert ahead of time.

saturday - yard work, gym, and hosting a small wine/dinner party.

the plan for the menu is currently :

1st: plate a small ice cream scoop of a sweet shrimp crudo, fill shallow bowl with a ladel or so of creamy lobster bisque

2nd: braised short rib with creamy polenta, sauce made from the reduced and de fatted braising liquids and some homemade veal demi-glace, topped with argula micro green salad and struggling with a veggie choice that adds some crunchyness and texture to it. idk.

3rd: vanilla panna cotta with a raspberry coulis

i'm concerned about it being rich/rich/rich and just being a bit overpowering, so im contemplating mixing up the 1st with something brighter, or doing a meyer lemony/grapefruity panna cotta to finish lighter. more acidic. but i'd like to stick to the panna cotta due to being able to prepare it tonight and only have to plate on the fly.

should be fun.

sunday: run, clean the house, finish yard work that didnt get done, some work work to catch up, cook more.

This afternoon: To the bank to sign papers. To the post office to mail a check to the contractors working on the Raleigh house.

Tonight: Family night and sleep. (I also feel like hot ass with a summer cold.)

Tomorrow & Sunday: A bunch of nothing. I have a cold, Silas has a cold and an ear infection. Husband will be working. My brother and his GF will be out of town. So, I think we'll stay in doors in our PJs and leisurely do housework.
