The player who initiates contact, throws his head back to sell the contact, then attempts a falling away shot that has no prayer of going in should not be rewarded with a foul call. To me it’s the same concept as not rewarding the defender for getting in the way of the ball handler and then flopping when he is touched to draw a charge. Brad Davidson’s flops and drawing charges at Wiscy were unserious basketball plays. A ball handler initiating contact vs clean defense and then throwing up a wild shot to draw the foul is also an unserious play. Refs shouldn’t reward unserious basketball plays. Put that sentence in the rule book!

UNC fans have a gripe because that play officiated differently every time down court. Because refs suck. But it should not be a foul.

This is going to sound bad, but another case of chapel hill only reacting (overreacting?) when a pretty white girl dies.

Don't get me wrong, this was tragic, but you honestly think they'd put in this much work if some poor black guy died instead of a well off white girl? No, they'd charge the driver and be done with it instead of throwing charges at everyone who even looked at her the night they died.

Driving while intoxicated (drunk or otherwise) is shitty. Don't do it. I feel awful for anyone who is in an accident involving a drunk driver. I don't quite feel the same for adults who willingly get into cars with drunk drivers.
