Lots of stupid in this episode. Shame too because this season was so much better than the last but at least season two ended with a bang.

Their family members were just slaughtered, i'd think they'd be better off changing scenery.

not to mention that the prison is easier to secure really.

They just need to ransack the town and theyre good. the gov. basically has no men.

Watched tonight's finale with a group of friends. I think we're all pretty frustrated with the way things went down. There were no surprises really and not a bit of enticement to make people eager for the new season.

Maggie and Glenn need some practice time at the shooting range. They did not hit a single person leaving the prison.

^ didn't hit a single person, but the governor's group still claimed "it was a slaughter!"

good post from another board on last night's episode

Quote :
"I don't mean to pile on, but once again the writers and staff demonstrate that TWD is too much show for them. The biggest issue is that they don't know how to make the audience like/dislike a character on purpose, which is mind boggling to me.

The second issue is that they don't seem to have a good understanding of how to keep the world they built consistent and compelling. They have neutered the walkers so much that the only way you can die is through negligence. The really stupid thing is that they could have made unMilton a believable menace to Andrea if they had bothered to maim her through torture. Instead, she gets all chatty and afflicted with awful toe-eye coordination.

A lot of things were mishandled. This would have been fine as the penultimate episode, followed by a nice showdown between Rick and the Gov to reassert Rick as a BAMF instead of the headcase he's been.

If you're going to have a finale that isn't satisfying, it better well be thought provoking. Right now, there is no reason to talk about what just happened, or what may have happened (but wasn't fully fleshed out), or what will happen due to some clever dilemma. That's just bad storytelling."

i actually agree with a lot of the critics, a lot of things were just off in this episode. it did seem that scenes were cut, darryl just appears back at the prison after a few scenes, never mentioning his emotional break-down after seeing merle; it was idiotic of andrea to sit there and chit-chat with milton for several minutes when every second was crucial to her survival; maggie and glen had open shots on the woodbury soldiers and didn't hit a single one, after the woodbury gang was driven off, the prison gang was like "Yay, we won!", even though the woodbury gang should have just turned back around and taken them all out with their turret and blooper gun, the woodbury gang called it a "slaughter" even though no one was killed, etc. etc.

I got the impression they were intentionally shooting to miss and just wanted to scare them into leaving, knowing that they are really a bunch of people who just don't know any better and aren't in this for blood

Those must have been some pretty crappy handcuffs to where she could get them off so easily with pliers, one handed. With a screwdriver or hacksaw it would be at least a little more believable.

Andrea dying is the only thing that halfway salvaged the finale.

Was lolling so hard when she was wasting minutes at a time to chat with the dying dude about life and shit.

What was the point of showing the truck driving over the spikes as it entered the prison? Did that affect their retreat at all? Also, is the governor just...gone?

I'm looking forward to the Walking Dead game that I finally saw the commercial for last night (with darryl and merle, not the choose your own adventure that came out a while ago.)

YES, this pissed me off. Darryl appears back at the prison like nothing had happened.

I was hoping that while Rick and Co. went to Woodbury, the Governor would've looped back around to the prison where killed Hershel and his blonde daughter. Then the final scene is Rick walking back into the prison just in time to see Carl kill the Governor - effectively doing the job his dad had failed to do

I too was expecting the gov to have turned around and attacked the town, giving some suspense for the next season.

The entire series could be canned and I don't think anyone would really have any unresolved questions.

i downloaded the game on PC and it's really nothing great. it's basically a decent time-waster but the controls suck and the environments are too linear. oh and forget about being able to jump.

Yeah I thought the graphics for TWD game they advertised last night looked nearly 10 years old.

Plus these TV/movie games always suck nuts because they're always rushed out for some deadline. Hardcore fans buy it no matter what, and they usually make a bundle because the development budget was nil.

No shame in your game Carl. No shame. Glad Andrea is dead. I knew the plot with the gov was going to drag on. A woman can't keep her damn mouth shut even when her life is in danger.

I feel the same way most other people do. Crappy season finale.

I think the way Andrea died was complete crap. All she had to do was stab Milton in the head with the pliers handle. Her getting bitten was crap IMO. Glenn and Maggie's aim with their ARs was comedically pitiful.

Really no great impulse to "can't hardly wait" till season 4.

I don't mind it didn't end on a cliff hanger.

But none of the built up conflicts panned out.

Lame battle scene, lame governor resolution.

i'm also truly shocked that both maggie and glen survived the finale. they didn't kill off anyone that people give a damn about (when people cheer for an original cast member being killed off, you've done something wrong along the way). i honestly do not give two shits about carl becoming some hardened asshole. i'm sure during the time off the shittiness of this episode will fade and i'll be looking forward to the season 4 premier, but right now i just want to punch the writers in their collective nuts
