well, to me, the best part of purchasing a thoughful gift is usually to get something lavish that the person wouldn't normally get.

be it more expenisve, more plentiful, whatever

my favorite gifts are something that are of high utility, but something i wouldnt normally spend that kind of money on, but would consider very nice to have.
