ZoBrown was selected to play in the Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic among 3 McDAAs, seventeen of rivals top 100 players and ten top50s.

Quote :
"Telep said the three McDonald’s All-Americans are a good enough draw, but noted Kansas signee Elijah Johnson and N.C. State signee Lorenzo Brown are also among the top 30 players in the country."

Quincy Miller is a possible 2011 prospect for us. He hails from Winston-Salem and already has offers from Wake Forest and Auburn. He plays AAU ball for D-One Sports which as many of you know is the team that John Wall, Ryan Kelly, and Deuce Bello play for. Getting him may go a long way in getting Bello to come here as well.

This is bad news, but it doesn't mean that he is not coming here.

Regardless of the Clifton's potential influence, I think it does serve notice that we simply must improve as a program from top to bottom though.

okay, i need to just take this moment to stop following this crap. there really is very little room to be optimistic about this program right now. all we need now is for lorenzo brown to get in a car accident or something stupid like that.

honestly, i would shoot myself in the face if my job was to suck off some 15 year old kid for 3 years in the hopes that he comes and plays ball for me then the immature motherfucker decides to follow the $$ from some shady ass goon preying on the AAU circuit. Then when they decommit, I have 3 years worth of cum on my face and no job because some child won't come play for me.

This is a matter of the recruits seeing the writing on the wall that we have a subpar NBA assistant coach. Stop speculating that Memphis is buying these kids, because it is stupid and unfounded. Nobody wants to play for a loser, and that's the team we've been for three years under Lowe. If we wanted to pull in the big boys and not have people de-commit then we needed to be better than 6-11 in the ACC in Lowe's third year. It's as simple as that.

Damn this sucks. Is this some ploy by Leslie just to see who is gonna come after him? Is he really serious about playing somewhere else? If so, where?

Stop speculating? You mean, like making the assumption that he decommited b/c he realized "we have a subpar NBA assistant coach".? Is that not "speculating"? You don't think there's the possibility that there are other reasons behind his decision?

okay, I'll give you that. It was speculating on my part as there are many decisions that factor into a recruit and where he goes. But wouldn't you agree that winning more than we have in the past 3 years would certainly benefit us in getting these guys? Are you going to say we've missed all of these guys and that being at the bottom of the ACC the last three years doesn't carry any weight on their decisions to go else where?

V Yeah, I'll agree with being in the bottom of the ACC for the last three seasons factors into a reruit's decision, no doubt. Nobody's happy about being at the bottom. Just wish you wouldn't bring your coach-hating here and claim he's the sole reason for Leslie's current decommit. There are other threads to coach-hate.

I would say not requiring them to do any academics while they're here and promising them some money with free FedEx shipping would of gotten them here.

Oh okay. It has nothing to do with the fact that Calipari is a better and proven college basketball coach than Lowe is at this point. Memphis is clearly commiting egregious NCAA violations to lure these guys away from us.

I see a reoccuring pattern.

Somebody says "That loss can't be entirely pinned on the coach"

Then you say "_____ think Lowe is the best coach ever, and if you disagree, you're a retard "

Somebody says "His decommittment can't be solely blamed on the coach."

So you respond "It has nothing to do with the fact that Calipari is a better and proven college basketball coach than Lowe is at this point. Memphis is clearly committing egregious NCAA violations to lure these guys away from us. "

It's a reoccurring pattern, and it's silly. You constantly put words in people's mouth. Nobody's said that Fowler is doing a great job. Nobody's said Lowe is a better coach than Calipari. Nobody's happy with the team's record.

It's just childish man. Please don't bring it into the recruiting thread too.

I can't say I really blame the kid. It's hard to decide what's best for your future when you are going into your sophomore year of high school. I'm sure things change. That being said, this sucks.

Hopefully he'll end up here anyway.

Sid's future will be determined by his W-L record in the future, which will depend on his recruits. It doesn't all hinge on CJ Leslie, but he was a big big part of our future.

He might. Look at it from his perspective. He can go on visits now and test the trim in a whole bunch of locations or he could stay in North Raleigh and hit familiar for the next 2 years. I mean the kid committed after his freshman year. He probably didn't even know what blow and high quality tail was at that point. Live and learn I guess...

if I was a top highschool player committed to NC State, I would be thinking twice about it after the way we've looked the past two years...

face it. We suck bad enough that it will magnify into recruiting. this certainly wont be the last kick in the nuts we will experience before the start of next season...

NC State bball is irrelevant and I wouldn't look for it to become relevant again for another 5-10 years or until we somehow manage to land a top caliber coach that can recruit the best players instantly. Other than that, we somehow have to find a gym in the rough, and do you expect Fowler to be able to do that?

I'm just glad I have lifetime rights to football seats and not bball seats. I can at least tailgate for fball games.

His future depends on the play and coaching of his recruits. So far, it has been a pretty unfair judgment with Herb's players. We'll see how he does the next 2 years with his recruits.

LOL. this is pathetic.

sid has next year to prove himself as a coach imo. it will be all his guys. i've blamed a lot on the failure of mccauley, costner, and fells to live up to their upper classmen leadership roles.

i don't think leslie is as sure as gone. i think he's doing the same as most of us- waiting until next year to see what sidney can do with his players.

the problem is, if next year turns out to be a disaster, no one wants to begin a coaching search with lee fowler in charge. he's got to go first.

I don't know what kind of fantasy world you are living in Bullet, but I'm dumb founded that you are trying to argue semantics of my statements (which you know in your heart are true) regarding the state of our basketball program.

Your passion for coach Lowe far exceeds your passion for NC State basketball as a whole.
