Wht you have to do is train your dog to come to you when you call her.

Start with giving her a treat everytime she comes to you when you call her name. Eventually she will learn that when you call her name she needs to get to you.

i tried her off the leash two other times and it was fine. but today was not so fine. i def need to keep treats with me when we go outside to lure her back

what had happened was, today i tried to get her to play fetch (outside, she'll play inside but she's kinda a big girl so i figured maybe she'd wanna play outside). instead she just wanted to run through the woods!

Well it works best to start off with her just inside coming back to you, then you move to a larger area like a fenced in yard and work you way up until you can be any where with her off the leash and she will always come back.
