I need help finding the "best" looking military pumps. most females I see have awful pumps with square heels. these are the regulations I have to meet. also the toe can't be too pointy, it's not in the regs but is pretty much understood.

Quote :
"Females. ... dress pumps made of smooth leather or synthetic leather, with closed heels and toes. Heels shall be no higher than approximately 2-5/8 inches nor less than approximately 5/8 inch measured from the forward edge, and no wider than approximately 1-3/4 inches at the base. Sole shall be no thicker than approximately 1/4 inch. Wedge heels are not authorized. "

Also I'd like a sturdy heel because I'll be standing all day to teach. There are sites that sell shoes specifically for the military, but I can wear any pair that fits the regs. these are the best I found so far.

this is what I'm trying to avoid

^i'm a fan of the pumps you found, britta. but i would definitely try them on (or use zappos so you can try on/return a lot). because i'm assuming you want comfort as well?

i've heard frye makes some super comfortable heels, and mixed reviews about the cole haans (with nike insoles). what's your price range?

This is kinda similar to what you posted I guess:

http://tinyurl.com/dd7lwp

this heel says 3 inches so that is too high i suppose, but it is anne klein (you can find the brand at like belk's/macys) and they often have more modest/businessy type shoes. but a shoe like that still looks stylish (the shape) but more professional. though that one wouldn't work i suppose because of the heel. and i guess you said you didn't like the squared heel, but i don't think those look TOO horrible.

this is a hard task!!

i thought i'd give you ladies an update on my laser hair removal (had one treatment on my armpits). i am really impressed! the hair that grows back is a lot softer and i can go about a week before i even need to shave. i would say it got rid of >50% of the hair. i have another appointment in a few weeks and i think after that i might not even need anymore treatments, or just one more at the most.

if you didn't see my first post, i went to bodylase in cary. they were very nice and i have looked at prices at other places and bodylase is much cheaper but (i believe) uses the same laser as the more expensive places. for example, underarm hair removal at bodylase is $99 per treatment but at blue water spa its $144 (i'm assuming the prices are per treatment here http://www.bluewaterspa.com/laser-hair-removal-pricing.html)

next time i go back i will be getting some other areas done as well, so i will let you all know how that goes!

I love the ruffle suit, but be careful! I ordered it, and if you're any bigger than a B on top, it's probably not gonna work. I had to send it back

leave the bedazzler, cha-cha rhinestones at wal-mart or good will where they belong. The shoes look lovey as they are

I ended up getting these:

they were $100 on ebay, and they are soooo close to the ones I originally wanted. They are a bit more cobalt blue, but that is fine bc my bridesmaid's dresses are navy + cobalt

I am excited they shipped today!!!

DAMN that's a close match! NICE! So, wait, you're the one getting married? If so, I adore that you're gonna wear blue shoes. That's awesome.

(Aha, they even sorta stole the red sole, it looks like...)

louboutins were gorgeous, but definetly wouldnt splurge for something they will wear once, tho if you are buying heels you know you will wear a lot getting a brand like that really does make a different, its soooo much more comfortable.

has anyone seen any tops lately that arent just plain t's but arent super frilly
I feel like i have nothing to wear up top because all the spring and summer tops are either too casual or far too embellished or patterned. I like to wear more solid colors or simple patterns with clean lines, ruffles and puffs are not clean lines.

^You should probably be shopping at more "mature" or business places. What you're after will probably be considered a staple, business casual, or layering essential.

I don't care for those.

Or most of the gladiator sandals that seem to be popular this year. Too many ugly straps.
