so i got dark sector ($13), assassin's creed ($17), and heavenly sword ($30) this weekend with the coupon. dark sector is actually pretty damn awesome, i dunno how it got such bad reviews but very fun and cool game, well worth $13. havent tried the others yet....

i also really wanna try lair since they have that patch where you can use the joysticks

Regardless of whether or not you think this is a "demo" (even though it has as much content as many fully priced games), at $23 it is a goddamn steal.

anyone with Madden 09, are there any online roster updates or will there be any through the PSN?

I just dont feel like going through and making all the roster changes unless i have to.

Only one i've done is the chad pennington brett favre change and moving shockey to the saints. I can't believe favre is rated a 99, that makes me LOL.


as far as the game goes, i'm playing on a shitty tv right now but my first impressions are so so. I did the madden test and got rated "All Madden" on Rushing O but in the actual games I can barely and i mean barely get 100yds. Granted this is my first madden game in probably 6 years (i was always a 2k player) so i really dont know exactly what im doing yet.

^ in Madden go online and start an online game with "play now" or whatever. It will immediately download the roster update. This is how I get the roster updates.

I recently got one.

Bought GT5 and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and couldn't decide what FPS game I wanted. I use it a lot as a media device and my computer as a media server. I also just copied all of my songs and videos from my ipod to the ps3.

it gets somewhat repetitive, and the storyline could have more depth, but its fun. you get better at the aiming system, at least i have. eventually these demon things start attacking you in mass and you better be good with your guns.

another question for you ps3 owners because i've never played or seen a ps3 myself-

my wife works at a retail store that sells ps3 consoles. recently, a guy returned a ps3 back to the store, saying "it didn't work". my wife and her colleagues have determined that something is wrong with that claim because there's a profile on the console. she knew to check for the hard drive (are these even removable?) and everything checked out there. i asked her about the warranty sticker and she didn't notice anything.

to add to this, the guy has done this 4 times. is he just doing this over and over to make month's rent, or is there something else going on here?

pretty cool so far. editing levels isnt hard, but could take some serious time if you get fancy. a few i played online must have taken days and days.

the online play is fun. you get put into a group w/ a group leader so you can play different levels and travel around w/ the same group. kinda fun cuz you can chat and wave your arms at them... hah

Is the serial number of the unit he returned the same as the serial number of the unit he originally purchased?

I will say that, honestly, i was WAY more excited about LBP before i got in the beta.

I think the game is fun, but i'm not totally sure i'll be buying it now. 2 weeks w/ the beta might be enough. Basically the built in levels are fun, but pretty easy. Fanatik, in the beta can you get past the four levels in the King world? I can't figure out how to move on. maybe you can't in the beta/demo.

Online is ok, but at this point the servers are overloaded and its laggy and unreliable as hell.

Creating is pretty slick, but its not def not simple. It'll take some serious time to build a really big and interesting level from scratch. Personally, i don't have that kinda time so i doubt i'd really get into that. SAd because that was the #1 thing i wanted to do. I wanted it to be like magic pen, but this is a lot more frustrating to get things to work like you want.

Its still very early obviously, but so far almost every level thats been posted by users online sucks. Some don't even have ends or missions or goals. you just wonder around till you quit. There needs to be a way to sort and rank the levels by their Heart rating so you can easily get to the good stuff. As it is now, its just 10 planets full of about 20 random shitty levels. ha

So basically, it takes time and talent to make something fun to play? Haha, sorry, i don't mean to criticize your opinion, i obviously haven't played the game but that seems to be about the jist of what you're saying. In which case, I wouldn't say I'm shocked by that assessment.
