given the premise of the show so far, and the occurances on the island, i find it much more likely that his dad was on the plane and in the coffin but is now missing then some lame ass story about the airline dicking him over.

but he and his dad have some sorta conflict between each other, and him dying kinda brought some closure to that but not really. he wouldn't be ok until he buried his father and had all their problems buried with him. now he finds out his dad isn't in the coffin, which also means his problems aren't gone either.

so he could be mad at the airline, or he could be super frustrated

i am kinda leaning towards the whole dad was dead but the plane crash made him alive again theory based on the fact that locke can mysteriously walk again. wtf

so if it is an island where what they imagine actually appears/happens, and say they realize this, could they just imagine a boat or a rescue team and get the hell out? or imagine houses and indoor plumbing and electricity?

This show just keeps getting better and better! I love all the suspense and think the story line keeps improving.

It got picked up for the rest of the season (which shouldn't be a surprise because its considered one of the best new dramas on tv)

Nah, it is surprising that a show that's considered the best new show actually makes it a full season. Last year's best new shows were THE O.C., ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, KAREN SISCO, and WONDERFALLS. Two of those most people probably don't even remember at this point, one just barely made it through the full season, and well... THE O.C. was the exception.

Which tells me that some main characters will die by the end of the season and they will also find the tail section of the plane complete with survivors that will become main characters in Season 2....if that theory or something like it is the case.

But I would like to say again that the people at the airline DID NOT take a dead body out of a coffin just to dick over some poor schlub, and I am simply amazed that anyone would still buy into that...hell TV writers love to write shit that wont happen and Im sure theyd roll their eyes at that one.
