Packpride message boards aren't that great. it's the chatroom where you find most things out. Really...there's no news. No one knows. Word is Wisconsin.... from the people that have connections.... other than that, it's pretty much making fun of NC State wasting thousands of dollars on Shaeffer
Brent actually was in our chatroom earlier today. Screenname "COSQB7". I didn't think it was really him at first, but everyone assured me it was. He didn't say anything... just came for 4-5 mins and left. Supposedly, he also visited Ole Miss' chat today as well (Not sure about Wisconsin)

I still don't believe it.
I mean, he "eliminated them"... so the shock factor pick is there.... I just can't see him going to Wisconsin. I think if he goes anywhere it's Ole Miss with State a close 2nd.
He'll have to redshirt as Wisconsin. Just doesn't make sense 1/19/2006 6:10:47 PM |

yea it really doesnt especially with that pickup they just made at QB...same goes for Ole Miss, I mean I hope the kid comes here for offensive purposes...but it wouldnt surprise me if he pulls out the trick hat
and as for when it will be aired and where, any word on that? what channel site etc.? 1/19/2006 6:12:29 PM |

3:00 PM Pacific time...which is 6:00 East...right?
And it's not going to be televised or anything. I'm guessing the way you'll hear it first is from Packpride. Keep checking the front page
Of note is that he "eliminated" Wisconsin in one of his articles about 3 days ago. Well, he's going to have 3 helmets to choose between. NC State, Ole Miss... and Wisconsin...?

OM/NCSU bound. "COSQB7" was a joke that the "regulars" in there came up with. There's a tight bunch in there that give newcomers hell.
BTW, we picked up a few commitments this week... and there are a few more that haven't gone "public" yet. 2 of them come from Marcus Hudson's HS and one is a OL from FL. 1/19/2006 6:20:39 PM |

I'm not a newcomer in there.... and unless someone paid $100 for that joke, then it really wasn't a joke. It was in premium chat.1/19/2006 6:23:23 PM |

pretty sure that wasnt a joke at 100 a laugh
then again why would Brent pay 300 bucks just to look at the chat, steep price for a college kid
and yea, its still three helmets...so that still gives Wisc. a possibility....looks like by eliminating them he actually just meant thats where im going....gonna be interesting though. 1/19/2006 6:25:43 PM |

Some recruits get free access.
Jonathan Hannah used to post on Packpride all the time. There have been numerous occasions where recruits posted on the premium boards
I have no idea if Shaffer was really one of those recruits... never heard him menioned as "being on the board".
Also, back in the day you could actually change your screen name when logging into chat, but you can't any more. Maybe they figured out how to log onto it under that name.
I remember right during his recruitment, I logged onto chat (before they updated and stopped people from doing it) under "MustafaShakur" and my computer froze up do to 10,000 pm's being sent at once

Hannah's dad was a NCSU grad and former football player... He subscribed to the site.
Recruits read the free boards mainly, there's no way in hell it is legal for these sites to give recruits free subscriptions.
Wiscy might still be a choice since they had an in-home recently, but it's gotta be Ole Miss or State. 1/19/2006 6:29:23 PM |

So how come he posted on the Virginia Tech and South Carolina boards as well?
I agree...seems like somewhat of a rule breaker.... but it is unaffiliated with the University

Maybe he subscribed to them as well? The family had $$$$.
How many other recruits do you know of that read/post on the boards? I know one kid we are actively recruiting and the only board he reads is the free board because he doesn't have a subscription for the Premium Board. And this is a legit prospect, who we would give access too if we were allowed.
But who knows. Recruiting is a dirty dirty subject. 1/19/2006 6:34:19 PM |

alright....well I just logged into chat and asked one of the "reliable" ones that said Wisconsin earlier...
They were fucking with a rebels fan who paid $10 (For a month subscription) so he could see what we were saying in chat. This shit went on for about 2 hrs today... so I thought they were serious
He says he has no info, but like everyone else, gut says NC State. Neglect my previous post(s)
Maybe TheWordMan just hasn't updated his info. Like I said, he said Wisconsin... but about 1.5 weeks ago

Dude...If you're gonna be an NC State fan, you just need to go ahead and expect the worst. This whole BS thing wont even matter a few weeks from now...no matter what he does...of course it might land us a few more players.
Just do like I'm gonna do...I'm planning on being drunk by about 4. Log onto TWW and Packpride after your half toasted, and just check up on it all afternoon. If he commits, I'm gonna go back to my living room and have a party. If he goes somewhere else, I'm gonna drink myself to oblivion. Either way I end up with a hangover and I will have forgotten it by the time the wake game starts.
p.s....expecting the worst is easier on the old ticker

ECU fans are idiots. First of all they're reporting that Josh Adams has commited to us...not sure if he has(don't think so yet) but one of their responses to that could be the dumbest thing I've ever read:

So Amato found a girl, put her around J. Adams so they could hit it off and then we get a recruit because of it? They're really reaching for excuses for why no one wants to go there unless they can't get in any other school.1/23/2006 3:47:24 PM |

but seriously
Why would Josh Adams come play here unless he already knows he doesnt want to play RB?
On that same note, why THE FUCK would he go to EZU, period? 1/23/2006 4:35:01 PM |
WolfMiami All American 8766 Posts user info edit post |
^I think by "committed to us" he meant NC State
that being said, Adams is a bit small to be a starting running back at a major D1 program in my opinion
a good option for him would be to come to NCSU and be a flanker/tremain hall type guy for a year or two, and see if he can swole up
other than that he will be wakes number 2 RB for a few years, and maybe get to start for that crap team his senior year
I do not honestly think that JA ever really considered ECU that hard....but I could be wrong 1/23/2006 4:38:48 PM |
phishbfm All American 4715 Posts user info edit post |
i think the only reason he was considering them was there was a chance he wouldn't make the grades to get into state or wake...so ecu would've been an option. 1/23/2006 4:55:20 PM |
wolfAApack All American 9980 Posts user info edit post |
^^ Yeah I know he was talking about State...I just wanted to do the hypothetical question for both schools.
I definately think chuck would find a place for him, but Blackman is going to be playing the slot this year isnt he?
If he came and redshirted, he could potentially see an assload of PT by his redshirt sophmore year at receiver...that would be his ideal situation I think.
