I will have to see, it sounds promising, and Im definitely not complaining at these prices. It would make me a millionaire if it panned out.

FPPL is pretty much worth it to do, 2 cents a share.

It cant really go lower. Put aside a few couple hundred bucks worth, buy 60 or 70k

this is the thing that scares me. with such low market caps/low volume, it can swing wildly with a few orders. matter of fact, people reading this and going and buying is pumping it up.

Yeah, I wouldn't put more than a few hundred bucks in stocks like that. But even then, the potential reward is worth the small risk.

Scottrade is a bit funky on how they calculate their commission. I will let you know how it all works out.

they charge a % on top of commission for the micro-stocks

i'm more concerned about actually being able to unload the stock on the market

The thing about PEIX is Bill Gates owns 25% of the outstanding shares, so you know hes done his research. I would wait for a pull back to around $33.

and the thing with FPPL, look at the chart...somebody must of hit the wrong button a few minutes ago and lost a ton of money!

peix pull back to 33.... I dont know about that call....

Either way, long term --- I have PEIX, GOLDX, DODFX, and some penny stocks for the short term.

Honestly, I think the best bets for long term are mutual funds, unless you plan on keeping up with certain stocks ALL THE TIME. If your young, the two funds above are pretty aggressive, and have given 40% annually in recent years.

All that said, in a recession, you need to hedge your bets with something, and many think we could be seeing a slowdown in the near future, so just be careful right now not to put your eggs all in one basket or it might take a few years for you to break even if you do. But Either way, long term means > 5 years to me, so I think you will be safe with any funds for a 5 year period.

for the long term i own quite a bit of QQQQ. i recommend it to others. i bought it in chunks, so my cost average over time is slightly below $30.

its an ETF (electronically traded fund). basically a mutual fund that you can buy as a stock by simply entering the QQQQ as the ticker symbol.

i like it because its a summation of a handful of stocks that are relatively healthy, and are representative of the tech economy.

depends if you're a bear or a bull - and of course what your strategy is.

if you see the bull nearing end of its run QQQQ probably isn't a good call right now.

perhaps. one thing to remember is that QQQQ is leaner and better than QQQ was.

i hedge the risk in my Q's with precious metals and healthcare stocks.

Whats the point in taking an outright position if you are going to hedge it. The one cancels out the other.

the point is moreso to try an play both sides of macroeconomic trends and bull bear cycles

hedging with derivatives surrounding an outright position on individual stocks is a different and more attention consuming game

Just shaking the tree a little, good time to buy... the demand in Ethanol is not going to decrease, and oil prices are going to stay high thru 2007 according the govt. One more bs statement from Iran and these things jump 5-10%. Ethanol is a good long term play, so don't get scared.

I bought on the dip, and might actually hold a few of these pink sheets long term. They are so cheap its kinda hard not to, they dont really have anywhere to go but up IMHO.
