Not likely, all 30 n64 games worth touching arent gonna hit 512 MB. flash memory is cheap anyway.

No doubt the reason why youre gonna be connected 24/7 is because to play the games you downloaded you must get in w/ internet access.

Quote :

they would have to. you probably cannot load n64 games off nintendo servers. though you might.

from what i'm gathering, games will NOT go on the SD cards at all.

which means the flash is not relaly expandable in that sense.

I got an automated call from EB because I had Zelda pre-ordered for GC and they were telling me I could switch over to Wii now. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what the deal is.

Metroid Prime 3 has been delayed until 2007, but its controls have greatly improved (according to IGN). Gamespot says that Zelda's controls have also improved and swinging Link's sword isn't hard at all.

On the subject of HD, the Wii supports widescreen and 480p, so while it won't look as good as the 360 or PS3, the video quality will be on the level of a DVD player.

^I have the Gamecube version preordered (since last June). Apparently the Wii version will be released on the same day as the Wii, November 11 or so, while the Gamecube version is being released a full month later on December 11. It sucks for me, but it's a smart business move on the part of Nintendo; instead of people spending money on a game for a system they've already got, they'll spend money on a new game AND a new console.

and yes, this is clearly a calculated business move.

Apparently not... the talks of there being over 30 games in Wii SPorts was a bit of confusion. You see, in Japan they are not getting Wii Sports but another title with 30+ small games. Wii Sports is said to be the 5 or so listed and that's it... its more of an introduction to the concept of the console, not a full title.

probably kinda secures the wiimote to your hand so you dont fling it 30 feet accross the room and bust it into a million pieces like 40% of everyone is gonna do.

Nintendo shit is quality shit. Throwing the Wiimote will not break it. I left an old gamboy outside in the snow for a day and it got run over by a car once. Except for sound, it still worked.

Thowing Nintendo controllers ---> Nothing breaks
Throwing Sony controllers ---> The controller breaks
Throwing M$ controllers ---> You break whatever you hit, whether it be a vase, a window, or a door.

yea actually, i once threw a wavebird against a cement wall. didnt break. but the wiimote has components that no other controller has ever had. but i dont know what those are specifically.

I thought i saw in one of the gameplay vids they where showing people using the Wii-motes with straps on them like some people have on their phones or cameras. Thought this was the "Wii-strap" i saw listed as part of the contents on the system on a couple sites.

Like this list off Joystiq
Included in the box: (all regions unless otherwise noted)

* Wii Console (white)
* Wii Remote with strap
* Nunchuk
* Wii AC Adapter
* Wii Stereo AV Cable
* Wii Stand
* Wii Stand Plate
* Wii Sensor Bar
* Sensor Bar Stand
* 2x AA Batteries
* Wii Sports (not included in Japan)

I am guessing the strap isnt as comfertable as glove....but thats just a guess...though it COULD be for powerglove style

but.....i doubt it

$60 for a component cable that's essentially useless 'cause it ain't rockin' HD?!

W.T.F.?!

If I get the Wii, I'll hafta cop a Pelican version or something.

"The result of that choice, says Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, is instant profit.

"We will make a profit on the entire Wii proposition out of the box--hardware and software," Fils-Aime told Reuters. "That really is a very different philosophy versus our competitors. We are a company that competes only in the interactive entertainment space, so we have to make a profit on everything we do." "

Two years ago I thought Nintendo was doomed to become a 3rd party developer like Sega. Now actually suspect they're going to come out on top. Im not disappointed by this news at all. Im glad they chose to make a profit, because $250 is a perfectly reasonable price for this machine.

that's good and bad, IMO

Cuts down on eBayers buying as many as they can. Hopefully if I trade in $50 worth of stuff (read: get fully assraped), they can actually GUARANTEE me a system.

Now, given that i've only got $50 worth of stuff TOPS, I will probably use it to reserve a PS3. I don't think the Wii will we that hard to find this holiday season, honestly.

Now to see if i've got $50 worth of junk to reserve me one...

well....the motivation is $$

eb/gamestop gets much more money by buying and selling a used game

which i think is bullshit. i want my money to go to nintendo so they can make more games, anyone can reatail the software.
