okay good i picked Lundy and Tatum Bell yesterday so that makes me feel better...

Doesnt seattle have a pretty damn good defense? I was thinking back to NFC championship game and we couldnt run worth a crap on them... i dont know if i like Kevin Jones against Seattle...

The Rams have been horrible against the run the past few years... Tatum Bell is the kind of back who can put up 73 yards and a TD on 10 carries so i really like my chances with him... i could just see Kevin Jones being like 30 rushing, 30 rec, no TD...

Seattle definitely has a good defense

and even though Denver could get 4 rushing touchdowns and Tatum could have zero, theres still a good chance he will get one...if ANY team is going to run the ball, its Denver

I don't understand why everyone is so down on Philip Rivers in fantasy...

I could see him easily being a top 15 fantasy QB.

I think he's at least as good (if not better) of a QB than Drew Brees...

Having Gates assures him of ~10 TD's right there... then toss in all the yards that LDT creates off screen passes... McCardell is a proven threat... Tomlinson/Turner keeps the defense honest as a rushing threat... they have a good but not stifling defense... he's not going to throw as many INT's as a guy like Eli Manning... he's a threat to get rushing TD's on QB sneaks (we know how he LOVES the sneak )

I just think he's in for a big season statistically...

And I know people are scared because its his first year starting.... but he's not a rookie and he's not some chump like JP Losman.

Eli Manning, Daunte Culpepper, Mike Vick, Carson Palmer (to an extent).... all these guys posted big numbers in their first full year as a starter after sitting the bench for a year....why cant Philip do it after sitting for two?

yeah but that was his 2nd year as the starter

Palmers first season starting he was 2900 yards, 18 TD's in 13 games...

which is good

first year starting doesnt mean that much if you aren't a true rookie... plenty of QB's have had big years... he's a good QB and he's in a very good situation. The numbers will be there. Its odd to me to see him go in the last rounds or even undrafted when people are taking guys like Aaron Brooks, Jake Plummer, Roethlisberger, and Drew Brees much higher.

I would imagine he'll put up similar if not better numbers than all four of the above. And he's not as big of a risk to lose his starting job as Brooks or Plummer...or as big of an injury risk as Brees...

Eli vs Indy or Brees @ Cleveland?

Bush (Cle) or T. Jones (GB) as my 2nd RB?

thomas jones easy.

Here's a little known fact.

Cedric Benson is terrible. He won't rush for more than 400 yards this year. If you have that guy, trade him.

TJones is a nice sleeper if he stays healthy.

I know the Bears WANT to start Benson but they can't because he sucks and he's always hurt.

Cleveland's d is good and while i think Bush will be a good player later in the season, he's not a riskfree start this early... let them work him into some formations for a few weeks before you bench a proven guy like TJones for him

ok i finally have a question of my own for you guys...slightly complicated but not too much...I play

RB, RB, WR, WR/TE, WR/RB

in a perfect world I would probably play:

Portis, Rudi, Torry, Shockey, TO

but with injuries etc should I play Cooley instead of Shockey and swap Portis with either Dunn or Duece McAllister? I will wait a couple days to see about Portis but I do have Cooley...also haha I have Jason Witten in case TO has questions...thoughts?

BTW...my first time playing fantasy football. Here's my team. I had the last pick in the first round/first pick in the second round. (Some of these were auto picks cuz I could only be there for the first half of the 18 round draft.)

QB
E. Manning
B. Leftwich

RB
E. James
W. Parker
M. Moore
B. Jacobs

WR
S. Smith
A. Johnson
Matt Jones
Mi. Clayton
B. Stokely
R. Curry

TE
B. Watson
D. Graham

K
J. Kasay
D. Akers

Def.
Indy
Cincy

So I don't think that's TOO bad for a first-timer. Any advice on whom to start this week?

^wait til Sunday morning to see what updates are available, unless your other best WR's play tonight...if your other receivers are mediocre, Steve Smith at 50% might be just as good as playing them

3 WR spots and 1 W/R spot open. Who should I start? * Is what I have selected right now.

TO*
K. McCardell*
A Toomer*
E. Parker Appears to have some sort of thumb problem. Not on depth chart.
D. Gabriel
D. Hall

T. Duckett*
V. Haynes

Grr, my league's commish just changed the scoring from 50 to 25 passing yards/point, doubling my opponent's score for Culpepper. Good thing Brown's getting all the td's anyway.

I'm going to stab cowher in the chin if he pulls that take-parker-out-when-he-is-at-the-1-yard-line shit all year. That haynes guy was horrible, anyway.

Wouldn't have changed the game, but it's the principle of the thing.

I cant believe how fucked i got playing against Heath Miller.

He was clearly out at like the 4 yard line. Thats 8 points i got jobbed (+6 TD & +2 for 40+ yard TD)

so im kinda worried about starting Lamont Jordan this week against SD good =run defense.

I also have Edge starting cuz i know he will get his, as backups I have Corey Dillon and Addai, but I dont think either of those will have a breakout week. Should I go with Jordan anyways or maybe drop Dillon for Chris Brown.

Ok, should I start Chester Taylor (vs. Redskins) or Fred Taylor (vs. Cowboys) at my 2nd RB? LJ is the #1.

Also, I opted to start Dallas over Denver on D since Denver plays the Rams and Dallas plays Jax.

i really wish willie's ass woulda got in the end zone:

got them to the one before being subbed out (fumble)
if they would had marked heath miller down inside the five, willie could had got another TD

shoulda/coulda/woulda. 115yds is nice, but 4pts from a starting RB ain't great.

I also have Heath Miller

Chambers had 59 yards dude and got thrown to twice in the end zone

That projects to 1,000 yards and ~8 TD's.

What were you expecting, the 1987 version of Jerry Rice?

leaning towards either Stallworth and Moss or Plaxico and Moss

Moss is in there i think for me, but the other spot is up for grabs, I know McNabb will throw to Stallworth, but what about Eli and Plax
