MONEY controls everything....even the athletic director at a major university. When people like Wendell Murphy say jump...Lee Fowler says "how high."

And from what I'm hearing, the decision whether or not to get rid of Chuck after this year could possibly be out of Lee Fowler's hands right now....which is just the news I've been waiting for. If it was up to Lee, Chuck would be safe after this year and would only have to produce Blue Field and Tire Bowls from here on out. But people are starting to go over his head right now.

This could get interesting.

^That is good to hear. I can't say that I won't be somewhat dissapointed with him leaving, b/c he has great potential, but I think he has done all he can do here. And I thank Chuck for what he has done...but the past few years or 100 yards worth of penalties a game, and lack or control on the field, and shady game planning, and lack of fire through out the season leads me to wanting to explore other options.

I unfortuneately believe he will be back next year, but I do hope that we find someone to bring in and can establish game time discipline and and put some fire under the players asses to perform every week regardless if it is a top rank team or some some double AA team

I know Murphy personally, him and my grandfather were roomies in college...
lets just say mr murphy hasnt been happy for a few seasons now...and its at its peak.

Chuck will be hired again, he has proven he is worthy of coaching a top-notch program time and time again, yet our fans are too impatient to give him fair amount of time. theyll give herb 10 years to do nothing, but theyll only give amato, who won more games in a season than any other coach at ncsu 7 years.

I think chuck would do well at a mac school or mid tier program, he could spark interest in the program from the fans, and yet the expectations wouldn't be so high and he probably could succeed on that level.

that would be too low. he did win 2 national championships at fsu, and had an 11 win season here in the ACC.

^if you think he is a top 25 coach, THEN WHY DO YOU WANT HIM GONE??? You make no sense! You admit he's good then say you want him gone! Do you think we can do better than that!? Are you going to help us get someone like Bill Cowher?

He clearly could only win with Rivers, thus proving our top 25 rankings were more on Priv's shoulders and not his own. I don't think he's horrible, but he isn't much better than Ocain, who could also beat the occasional fsu and syracuse and texas, et al and then falter to a 6-6 season or 7-5 with a loss to Baylor. I see a lot of similarities, I remember with Ocain, who was coach when I was there, we had tons of offsides penalties, which I thought Chuck had corrected, but it's the same old undisciplined bullshit all over again. We had one good season in the last 7.

LOL at comparing Chuck to Herb....Herb improved our team GREATLY while Chuck has the same results as MOC with a weaker ass schedule.

Coaches rarely, if ever, move to other head coach positions IN CONFERENCE. I can't think of any offhand examples, but Im sure it has happened. That shouldn't be a concern.

if you meant that at me, the WPC seniors seem to give hints that he will be fired, under some type of situational type thing, seemingly the UNC game

i can't pull for UNC against us, but i see it as similar to the charlotte UNC game back in 99 that got ocain canned.

i will be pulling for state, but even a 3-8 record with a victory over the worst unc team in 20 years with a lameduck coach, we might have to consider a coaching change
