Picked up Robovision Prime finally. Man this figure is fucking awesome. The packaging is easily the best of the first wave. I haven't opened it yet, still debating.

Where are you guys finding info about the upcoming waves? Some sites list the figures out now as wave 2 which is confusing.

^^ Fort Max is way bigger than Unicron or Supreme Starscream.

Ultimate Bumblebee sucks from what we've seen...shitty detailing and shitty transformation.

I haven't picked up Robovision Prime because Leader Prime is just so fucking perfect.

All the figures out now ARE Wave 2. Wave 1 of the Deluxe class was the protoform, and Wave 2 is the first run of movie characters. Wave 1 of the Voyagers was Ratchet and Blackout, and Wave 2 is Starscream and Ironhide. Wave 3 is Prime/Megatron and Wave 4 is Thundercracker/white Ratchet redeco.

oh yeah I forgot about the Protoforms. And I kind of agree with you on Bumblebee, the figure looks "fat". The deluxe '08 figure is awesome (and for 1/10th the price!)

I'm hoping they release a G1 repaint for Ratchet. That neon green paintjob is ugly as fuck.

I like the Ratchet repaint better. He looks more like a medic. Though I see your point about the red. I wish they left the grill bars black instead if making them silver (I guess its supposed to be chrome?)

It sucks having to wait for all the better versions now. '08 Bumblebee, G1 Starscream, Jazz and Ratchet.

Guess I can still get Ironhide and Blackout.

so where can i get some spare parts for old toys?

i got a nearly complete omega sentinel in a junk lot and need the minicon head for it (and some missiles and the missing side/door panel on the back would be nice too)

also, i got some power rangers shit in the same lot if anyone wants it for trade/cheap/free (there is some dude with a big ball in his chest?)

I picked up Blackout. Tried to transform him w/o looking at the instructions, no fucking way. The process feels the sloppiest out of the movie ones I have so far. One of the rotor blades is loose and doesn't hold right when I fold them back.

Other than that it's the shit.

I didn't think I'd like Bonecrusher, either, but he's pretty awesome. Very quirky and cool.

I was initially frustrated with Blackout, but once you get over his flaws, he still LOOKS fantastic in both modes.

Botcon thus far = cool as hell. Will spam this thread with many pictures on Monday.

Exclusives are pretty cool, though the convention comic shows a Snarl, Swoop, Elita-1, and Ratchet that appear to be based on toy molds - however these figures aren't known to exist yet. They also mention Bludgeon a zillion times in the comic and no 'classics' style figure of him is known to be in the works either.

In short, I think tomorrow we're going to find out that Classics will, indeed, continue on in at least a small form ^_____^

^ I probably couldn't have been more wrong in the above post about classics, stupid optimism. Nothing new on anything of that sort AND the 6" Titanium line is getting shitcanned - taking with it Bumblebee, Cosmos, Arcee, and Shockwave, who were all already prototyped.

About to go to the IDW panel, dealer room, Hasbro panel, meet Peter Cullen, Stan Bush, etc.

Exclusive figs included: Alpha Trion, Huffer, Springer, 'Clear' Mirage, Thrust, Dirge, Thundercracker, Bugbite, Dreadwing, and Weirdwolf.

IDW panel was pretty cool, not the most informative thing as apparently they're waiting to drop the big news at San Diego (they are a comic co. after all), but it did slip out that they're going to do a Dinobots mini-series (!) and they hinted that Nick Roche would be writing it (guy that did the Kup Spotlight). Tried to get a picture of page two of "Devastation" where Sixshot shows up on Earth, but they kept moving the slide on purpose so people wouldn't take pics XD


Peter Cullen panel was after that, really lighthearted and fun, basically an hour of Q&A. Coolest moment was when he re-enacted (sort of) his audition for the new movie. the scene they gave him to audition with was Prime talking to Ironhide. Bay's asst. was reading for Ironhide, and Cullen told the asst. to stop and let him do it XD (in case you didn't know, Cullen voiced both those characters in the 80s but only voices Prime in the new movie). It was just awesome in general to hear a new Prime/Ironhide exchange.


Went to the dealer room after that, picked up the new Pepsi Prime and an Optimal Optimus from Beast Wars.

Met Stan Bush (!), pic on monday.

Big news today:

Stuff on new show actually isn't totally dumb.

Classics WILL RETURN! In Fall '08, marketed as Universe. Pictures were not allowed, but sketches were shown of Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Octane. Galvatron supposedly in this line as well, NOT as a repaint.

Alts. and Titaniums cancelled due to being a financial bust for Hasbro.

Other random tidbits: Grimlock was the best selling classic, Dinobot reissues were wanted by Hasbro but Takara can't find the molds, 'new' Universe line will have Ultra scale, some form of combiners in the future.
