^definitely

you can open a 529 plan as soon as you get her social security #, which takes a couple of months. My daughter was born 12/4, and we got her SSN about 2 weeks ago.

NC actually has one of the better 529 plans in the nation, so go ahead and read up on it now. You can start for as little as $25.

pm me if you have any questions.

yeah i've been reading up on 529s too. there were a couple pennies on the floor of our postpartum room and i was like "these are going straight in the 529"

here's a little scrunchy face photo

^^next time she does that, you need to give her a loving but firm swat on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper. it's important to start disciplining your daughter early to condition her against unwanted behaviours like that.

just kidding; congrats on the daddyness, ken!

At least you don't have to deal with a wiener. My son has given himself a golden shower so many times that I'm afraid he really likes it.

I love how everyone is talking about how big this baby was...

I was 11lb. 4 oz. and 24" long when i was born.

My sister was 10-8 and my brother was an even 12lb.

None of us took more than a couple hours of labor either.

Oh, and congrats to both of you on the little girl. She is pretty cute, and i don't think babies are cute normally.

ok this guy is a freakin genius

Quote :
" It is a well known fact that reading is never good for anything for anyone for any reason. It’s true. It’s been proven by science.

This is extra-true for books on parenting. Right now, I can’t give much advice to parents, but I can say this: Parenting books only exist to make you feel like shit.

Every parenting book is 20% actual true stuff based on science (e.g. change its diaper when it pisses itself, don’t shake the baby, don’t let it play with plastic bags) and 80% completely unsupported axe-grinding on the part of the author (e.g. don’t feed your child meat, don’t use a pacifier, don’t bind feet).

Watch out for the author’s own personal bitterness. In 500 pages of book, something will always slip through:

“Infants can have a wide variety of hair color, and those colors may not stay constant through their childhood. Contrary to popular myth, hair color has no bearing on a child’s personality, even if she has red hair like MY BITCH EX-WIFE.”"
