really? because out of the top 15 beaches they rated in the US last i saw it wasnt first, and furthermore it was one of only 3 of the top 15 that they gave a 3 or lower out of 5 on the atmosphere, describing it as "The area gets incredibly crowded during summer, and the neon signs, souvenir shops and noisy amusement parks may be a bit gaudy"

and this was just in AMERICA, and 90% of the 'best beaches' lists from anywhere i ever see arent even american beaches

I like myrtle beach. Was always fun to me during senior weeks, bike weeks etc. My grandparents also lived there from the time I was born until I was in high school. If you got to actually stay there as I did as a child and see through the eyes of a local and not all the tourism stuff you'd love the weather, people, etc.

Just because it isn't the best beach in the world doesn't mean it sucks and is a terrible beach. Its a great beach.

They draw the shit of society to come to them. It is messy trashy and down right disgusting. There is no good reason to go there over any of the other great beaches within 2 hours of there.

I was in complete shock and disappointment when in the show Greek; the cast goes to "Myrtle Beach" for spring break. They made the place look like fucking cancun MTV spring break. This had to be in part some kind of paid publicity stunt by SC.

For one Myrtle Beach is not even that warm during spring break. Average high mid 60's lows in the 40's. Pretty much it is a coin flip as to rather or not it'll be in the 70's for beach weather or a cold rainy 50 degree day.

Two i was in myrtle beach for a few days (only b.c i had a free place to stay w/ some meredith girls and no other plans). There were scattered pockets of other spring breakers around otherwise it was relatively dead with a lot more older people and fuckers from canada. It sucked so bad that i left early and went to chill with some friends in Wilmington which was probably 10 times more happening.

Three everyone on the east coast knows myrtle beach is only for HIGH SCHOOL spring break, military people on shore leave, and red neck family vacations. The only college people that go there is for a more "economic" spring break. Even than you are better off heading further south to Charleston, Savannah, or even heading North to Wilmington.


After that episode i bet a lot of mid-west and yankee fucks will make plans to hit up myrtle beach for spring break only to be disappointed to arrive at a deserted beach on a rainy 61 degree day.

Agreed, Myrtle Beach at Spring Break is a joke. And if you go anytime in between May and June (high school beach week) you're probably going to go to jail.

But like I said in the other thread, North Myrtle is actually a quality place to stay...at least in my opinion. I stay in a condo right off Ocean Drive and I love it. You can walk to restaurants, bars, the beach, hell even the library if you want. The less you have to drive in Myrtle Beach, the less shitty your trip will be.
