I know a lot of people (including me) were complaining about the black girl's apparently horrible southern accent (and other bad accents, but hers in particular).

But I'm in NW Florida now, outside of Pensacola, pretty near Louisiana. It is redneck central down here - worse than anything I've ever seen in North Carolina. I went to Walmart today and the checkout lady was a black girl named Takilia, and no shit, she sounded exactly like the girl on the show. It was weird. Maybe there is a local black dialect around here that the actress was coached on.

I'm about 40 pages into the 2nd book, so I'll be done with it by the time this season comes around, but I'm still excited. Thanks for the clip!

well shit, i didn't know that

it's ok, i'm happy they're putting it on demand. we can start this week i started watching it last season without hubby, and he didn't start watching with me until ep 4 or 5, so he's got some catching up to do.

yeah this past saturday (watched it last night) was the ep when amy gets killed and jason confesses, tara gets bailed out by pig lady, and bill comes back after turning the annoying christian red head (albeit hot)...

so i got the finale this saturday, then i may pick up the first book from my s-i-l...may or may not start reading the 2nd while watching the shows. i dunno yet. either way, looking forward to S2.

Sopranos had 13 episode seasons except for the two parts of season 6 which had 12 and 9, respectively.

Six Feet Under had 13 episode seasons, except for the last season which had 12.

Big Love has had 12 episode seasons thus far.

so yeah, 12-13 seems to be the norm.

HBO dramas tend to get about 13 and HBO comedies tend to get 10. I wish network TV would adopt this philosophy. FX is already on board.

Well each of those episodes will be quality at least. You won't get bs filler episodes like with Lost or Heroes.

and the episodes are a full hour long, instead of ~42min with network TV, so a 12 ep season amounts to about 17 episodes of hour-long network shows

DVD's come out soon, if not already, so I'm guessing netflix will have it.

Just finished Sookie Stackhouse book 9... loved it.

So I've been rewatching some of the episodes to get caught up and my viewing companion who is new to the show brought up a good point... So Jason takes that whole vile of vampire blood and it completely messes him up... he's all inflamed and everything. How come when Sookie drinks Bill's blood to heal after being beaten up by the rednecks, she drinks a whole lot of it and aside from a slightly increased libido she has no other side effects?

it healed her, increased her libido, and if remember correctly it heightened her senses, and she doesn't have a penis

^^ Because Sookie is special.

Haha I don't know, even in the books it is the same deal. They even talk about older vampire's blood being more potent and $$$. Bill is much older than that vamp Jason and Amy drain. Maybe Sookie is just special and we shouldn't question.

^^^^Actually she did have side effects. Remember her senses were heightened (breakfast sausage incident) and maybe some other weird stuff. Also, Jason being completely healthy and Sookie being on the verge of death probably made quite the difference when it comes to the effects.

This is another, new Season 2 trailer. I think they are releasing one each weekend until the new season starts. I also think I am getting way too excited about this, I only have Alexander Skarsgard to blame so forgive me.

Part of me is sad that this is being paid for when Carnivale got punted with a gigantic cliffhanger.

The other part of me sees Anna Paquin more and more naked over time and tells the first part to shut up.

Apparently tonight the second part wins for good.

Their wardrobe does a magnificent job with those tits because they are tiny.
