Anyone watch the end of the women's handball game between Hungary and Brazil? That finish was pretty much the most bad ass thing I've seen in sports in a LONG time.

Anybody read this article on color bias? It basically said China has an unfair advantage from referees due to the color red. Guess they never officiated a State game.

red typically wins in sporting events. theres been a study that has proven its because red invokes fear in the human heart and makes you play more of a tight defensive game so the person in blue actually doesn't perform as well. I guess that would lead to them committing more penaltys and getting less calls.

Synchronized diving is on right now. It must be hard to make sure both divers weigh the same, otherwise one would fall faster than the other.

the weight doesnt affect you that much. if you look at the UK team, they're very different in their sizes.

at that height, you're hitting the water at the same speed, about 40 miles an hour.

the biggest difference is at the start of the dive, the difference in how high they jump off the tower.

We paid a lot through the lottery for tickets. I think it was 1300 for 2 tickets to 6 events. the face value over here is typically 50rmb, 70rmb, and 90rmb, which is really cheap, (10-17 dollars)

We scalped for USA volleyball yesterday, paid about $65 a ticket. Swimming and track and field are going for 300-400 a ticket, so it was great that we got those in the lottery. Lots of venues are half full, so we aren't sure if the chinese don't understand scalping, or if they are empty corporate seats.

Everyone that just swam the last leg goes to the side once it is clear. they do not climb up. As he was too busy screaming the F bomb to run over to their area.
