I did the same thing but didn't check to see what happened to Miranda. Although, I did go talk to her right after and she wouldn't have any of it since my paragon/renegade was too low. Talked to some more people around the ship and went full Champion with my level up points to up my paragon, and tried talking to her again and opened up the paragon option. She was loyal to me after that.

I'm curious about those of you who are saying that your paragon/renegade are too low. Is this because you haven't done enough side missions or what? What's keeping your moral status so low.

Note: I've only done three of the loyal missions so far, so I've got a ways to go before I get to this point.

I managed to save every single person......

I think someone dying would have been better.

If you don't go immediately through the gate when you are able chambers dies.

I just finished ME 1 with renegade alignment, lvl 47 I think. If I play back through on the same character and choose Paragon will the Paragon alignment be the one that is imported into ME 2? And is there anyway to change the class without restarting completely, or should I do that anyway if I want to play both as a new class and alignment?

^I believe you get choose which to import. You can also realign yourself in the new game if that's what you're asking. Importing a renegade doesn't require you to play a renegade.

The only thing that is carried over from ME1 is the choices you made and the characters looks. You can change everything about your character once its imported into ME2 accept the choices made in ME1.

Yeah thats what Im asking. If I play through on the same character but choose Paragon instead, do the choices made from my 2nd playthrough get carried over or can I choose the ones from my first as well?

I have no idea.

I would assume it would go off the most recent saved games. So it should go with the most recent decisions.

Remember, it doesn't give a damn whether you are paragon or renegade. It matters what choices you make in the main parts of the game.

I think you could manage to be renegade and still do "paragon" choices in the main decisions.

I imported my Level 47 character and it seems like I have had both Paragon and Renegade options in a shitload of conversations. Honestly I've been trying to do about half Renegade, half Paragon, depending on the expected ramifications. I also will hit LT or RT any time it pops up during a convo.

I'm interested to eventually start a new character from scratch and see the differences, but it looks like there are some solid advantages to importing a ME1 character.

I beat the game the first time though with the death of Grunt and Mordin. Played the last mission again and managed to keep everyone alive.

I wonder if they'll do level bonuses again with the import to ME3. If so, maybe I should play through again with my soldier. Otherwise, I may try to play through again with a biotic-heavy class, going full renegade.

I actually like to save while on a planet instead of on the normandy, so I can remember what I was doing while looking at a save file, instead of seeing a whole list of "Normandy SR-2"

What heavy weapon do you people use? I'm usually carrying the missle launcher since it is so general purpose, but I've used the (preorder) Blackhole gun and just unlocked the M-920 Cain. Thing is bad ass but the ammo situation is gay. Blackhole gun is awesome but doesn't do shit against big targets

I stick with the black hole gun. While the M-920 Cain has a certain entertainment value, I haven't figured out a good way to integrate it into a firefight. I keep blowing myself up with the gun: usually I take a lot of hits as I prepare to fire, and then the explosion takes out that last, crucial bit of health.

Thing with the BhG is that it doesn't do jack against big targets, and when I need to bust out the heavy weapon I'm in a live or death situation with some boss or heavy mech. Other than that it's my favorite weapon for taking out smaller crowds, other than the Cain of course

I use the collector beam weapon. It's great against shields, and that's where my character and my preferred runnin' crew is weak.

Yeah, the power cell ammo is scaled. If you're carrying, say, the particle beam, an ammo box will give you like 200 units of ammo, whereas if you're carrying the Blackhole gun it'll give you about 2 units.

The particle beam just doesn't have that instant BOOM/Fire and Forget effect I want . You also gotta stay in the line of fire for a long time with it, although that is true with any gun. Maybe I'll try it out some more

yeah aiming and using it reminded me a little of the hammer of dawn from Gears of War

but when I got it I immediately had to fight some of those glowing guys who are like "i'm assuming complete control" and it cut through their shield/defense nicely

The ice gun can do the most damage the fastest.

It fires as fast as you can click. You can dump all your ammo in 5-7 seconds and almost kill any boss providing you hit the thing

I've only used the Cain against heavy mechs. I took out three at once one time, it was fucking fantastic. Otherwise, I've just been using the Collector particle beam, used it for the thresher maw and the end boss.

ha went to the final resting place of the normandy sr-1 and find the mako stuck up on some rocks. which is fitting because thats where you spent 80% of last game.

I'm glad there's no more mountain-climbing in the Mako, but I miss the exploration aspect.

The mineral... mini-game (although it's too tedious to even be called a mini-game) is awful.

So anyone used the new weapon and armor yet?

I'm a fan, especially of the shotgun, even though the fire rate is painfully slow. It's deadly to enemies with no defenses even at medium range, and can blast through full armor at close range.

it really annoyed me too until i figured out that i could just tap the scan button and cover the planets like 10x faster than if you just hold it down and go methodically. now it's just kind of annoying.

Yeah holding down LT the whole time is for suckers!

I generally scan a planet at least a few times although if it starts off as being mineral Rich and I take it down to Poor, I won't necessarily take all the time needed to change the status to Depleted
