It was the fucking Campus Police that let things go to shit when they ticketed the guy in the truck in the Brickyard, then all the students followed them out as they walked with the truck

^^as a Raleigh native I can say RPD has always been extremely fair even when dealing with my shennanigans in high school

For the people saying they were thinking of driving past playing music.. good thing you didn't. You would have had to get past a herd of NCSU students. A Wolfline bus was stuck for a good 7 minutes at the least haha

Yup, this is exactly what happened. The cop handled it really well and everyone headed back to campus. It was mostly peaceful. There were a lot of people kicking over traffic barrels in the street, which got one kid arrested, but for the most part it was completely peaceful. I didn't see any other vandalism.

I was at the front of the group, and when it started going down Hillsborough St., there were so many people that you couldn't see the back of the mob. When we got down to the road block, I would guess that there were about 100-200 people left.

Also, this was without a doubt the most cohesive thing I've seen NC State students do as a group since I started going here.

That happened. Everyone surrounded the truck and slowly walked down the road through campus by the library. People were climbing on the truck. At one point, everyone in front of it stopped and chanted 'hell no, we wont go' and shit. Then people were like

THERE'S NO REQUIRED PERMIT TO GO TO HILLSBOROUGH STREET.

and then the street was mobbed

campus police need to take a long hard look at how fucking terribly they handled this. if you are going to try and supervise thousands of students, don't bring two and a half cops (one female cop) to the brickyard and try to be hard-asses. RPD had to step in and show the rent-a-cops how to control a crowd.

Hell, from the sound of it, RPD got the crowd under control by being nice and approachable rather than power-tripping and trying to intimidate people into obedience. Really doesn't help campus PD's rent-a-cop image.

Campus police did nothing. I watched them once students left the brickyard. They kind of grouped together and tagged behind watching. They did absolutely nothing outside of the initial brickyard screw-up they caused.

Then Raleigh PD showed up and the business was handled.
