Canada just sighed relief even though Burrows and Luongo almost spoiled it.
Quote : | "shit now no home ice for the wings" |
I'm not worried about it. Last year, San Jose took advantage of a bruised and battered team. They won't have that luxury this year. The Sharks are in for an enormous ass whipping because they, like the Bruins, are chronic underachievers until proven otherwise. The only team I'm worried about are the Canucks because the Eastern Conference is weak. Ovi needs to deliver for the Caps and has yet to do it. The Pit-TB winner will eventually run out of gas. The same thing for the Bruins-Habs winner. As for Philly, their best will not be good enough in the SCF.

the wings have been playing really freaking well. they may have zetterberg back by the next series, which is huge. there is such thing as too much rest, though. sharks may be tired, but they've got some confidence...
i think it's going to be a hell of a series.
vancouver/nashville, ugh, this series can go anyway, really. i dont know if it's going to be good. or if it's going to be bad. i think vancouver is the better team, but fuck does nashville have some heart. it's either going to be a close series fought tooth and nail, or a total ass kicking. i dont think we'll see 'ok' turn out. 4/27/2011 1:32:52 AM |

The thing is that everyone would blame Luongo, but it's really Schneider's giveaways in Game 6 that ruined everything. Vancouver easily wins Game 6 without those gaffes.4/27/2011 2:03:30 AM |

not sure who read the article on espn about the Blackhawks' missing puck from Game 7 last year, but i emailed the ESPN writer about how fascinating it was and I made a comment to him about wondering where the puck from Justin Williams' game clinching empty net goal in Game 7 for the Canes may be...
(i also made up a sarcastic theory that Jeremy Roenick, in a swirl of jealousy and wanting to live vicariously through the Cup, ate the puck)
here's what he said:
Quote : | "Kevin,
Thanks for the note. I’m not buying the Jeremy Roenick theory. The person who took the puck was on the ice when the game ended, that’s my opinion. As for the Hurricanes puck, yes, the team informed me that it has no idea what happened to the winning puck from that night.

I mean he is the common denominator as I remember him lunging at Williams when the goal was scored. I'm pretty sure he was on the ice against Chicago since Patrick Kane scored the goal and he was matched with him if I recall. He took a slap shot as time expired (classy) but that's about all I remember amongst all the cheering I was doing in the stands in 2006. 4/27/2011 11:12:44 AM |

Pronger wasnt on the ice last year then Kane scored, apparently
its certain that referee Sean Miller took the puck last year. the evidence is pretty damning. i just find it crazy that our puck it missing too.

That ESPN article on the Kane puck is great.
Beyond all reasonable doubt the linesman Miller picked up that puck. In the face of the photographic and video evidence, his wholehearted denials of "I never saw it" and "I never touched it", only serve to make him appear even more guilty and make me suspect that he has a lot to hide. 4/27/2011 12:37:42 PM |

I think Florida would be fine if they would allow the Panthers to play where the Heat play.
They might also do well to try and score a couple of actual stars... out on a limb, but if they offered the world to Pittsburgh for Crosby.. people might actually go to those games. 4/27/2011 4:50:33 PM |

It's clear that there are people in the Phoenix/Glendale market who really care about the Coyotes. There might not be enough of them for the team to be truly viable there, but they do exist.
Having been to a handful of Thrashers home games over the years, I've never seen a large contingent of fans who really care, and the city certainly doesn't give a shit.
Throw in those awful blueberry yogurt jerseys, and I'm way happier with Phoenix and Winnipeg than I am with Atlanta and Winnipeg. 4/27/2011 7:04:17 PM |
