the first problem is a temporary problem, a new bug that will probably be fixed shortly.

the second: yea, you have to enjoy dying often or you're going to rage. it helps to not carry around so much shit and make regular returns to your base to unload your loot. also, if you mine underground and avoid lava/natural caves, there is pretty much no danger.

1.9 is pretty sweet. I gave it another chance this morning. Built a sweet modern two story house. Is the weather thing new? I don't recall seeing it in 1.8, but then again I only played 1.8 for a few hours.

And JBaz, weather was introduced in Beta 1.5 I believe. Just be careful or you may find yourself hooked once you get your first little base going

sorry I've been slacking jcd. The whitelist isn't plugin controlled right now (just wanted to get a 1.8 server online so people could play). With 1.9 we're gonna have to map reset again... soo I figured I'd work out all the plugins etc for 1.9

^Pirate, you're an OP now, so you should be able to /whitelist

^^Jcd, I think I properly inverted the permissions to allow all whitelisted players "Build" group permissisons, without having to be explicitly added.

I know we will probably need to reset for 1.9, but it's a shame... pretty cool map so far, and I found a nice little natural fortress right between all biome types (other than snow) and near a town and an abandoned mine.... ah well, I'm sure the new map will be cool too.

I found that I CAN place lava, but not water-- is that a perms thing or a bug?

I like the zombie attack thing, keeps you on your toes.

Are cave spiders an add-on or part of 1.8? Because them? I hate!

^^Water is probably just me not getting the plugin configured properly, though it might be a 1.8 bug.

cave spiders are a new standard mob.

glad to see zombie attack is actually working it's going to get more and more difficult as I have time to set up the server (and with 1.9). It's going to start getting pretty dangerous/tough to play by yourself, to encourage folks to actually work together, build together, and mine together.

^it did. You should have build access now. I made "build" the default permissions setting.

So if you can login to the server, you should be able to build. If you still cant, I have no damn clue what is going on, and I'll just blow the server up come 1.9 to definitely fix it.

Alternatively, PirateArrnny can manually add you to the build group if you can get him online. I'd do it but I'm slammed at work this week and my computer won't run the client now at work (damn video card driver problem)

I've done major blasting circling the spawn area and on obcline and my island. And maybe one small vertical blasting area on some isolated island where I didn't see any habitation. I'll help out rebuilding if I fucked something up.

Shit. I didn't do the zombie spawners, the glass panes, or the TNT griefing. I'm wondering if there was some sort of bug set off that did kind of a wide spread mirror damage to other areas of the map from my TNT blasting.

Can't remember who put all the glass panes around your house. But I remember them showing me.
