^^^That's one of the most heavy handed morphing and translation schemes I've ever seen. I don't know what that product would really be useful for but it's an interesting programming exercise.

Now, if we could get another large earthquake at about the time the hurricane is making landfall, I might begin to think there might be something to the 2012 crap

It's pretty dark here in Greenville. We've had rain off and on since 1 pm or so. Sometimes torrential rain. The wind is definitely picking up.

Anyone boarded up near the landfall zone who wants company? I'm debating driving down although no idea if they have roadblocks up keeping people out

Also in greenville here. It doesn't look that bad though, just some light rain.

Will do.

Greenville weathers hurricanes fairly well, so your friend should be just fine. At worst, we'll have flooding and wind damage.

Technically, I'm about 10 miles east of Greenville. When I was in town, Greenville looked good, but out here we keep getting bursts of pouring rain.

WRAL is the worst.

Quote :
"She predicts that the Triangle could feel wind gusts of up to 50 mph and see 1 to 2 inches of rain by Sunday. The worst of the storm will be felt around mid-day Saturday, WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson said. "

Fuck you. We already probably have close to an inch in spots considering the downpour for the last 35 minutes.

I've lived in Greenville most of my life and been through lots of hurricanes. Floyd and the flooding afterwards was not typical for Greenville.

Speaking of Floyd, they've lowered retention pond levels in New Bern to compensate for potential flooding. I see that someone learned a lesson.

Still holding in Kure Beach. Wind gusts up to 45mph right now and some steady rain. Just went out for a drive and there's still a decent amount of folks hanging around. A couple bars are open. Think I'm gonna head to some later and wait the storm out there.

Sigh gonna abandon my plans of heading down. I can't find anyone else that wants to go plus she is weakening which actually makes me less interested. Will probably hate myself for not going but spending the next 24 hours driving around in my car by myself in a hurricane just doesnt seem as fun as it should be haha

My mom says that 9 hotels in Greenville are full. There was a shit ton of traffic on HW 43 coming from the beach.

We were living with my grandmother who wouldn't let them in the house. Now that she's gone and the house is ours, we still haven't moved them inside.

Lost power in Greenville. I was literally rushing to brew coffee while the power started flickering. I'm OK everyone. I was able to get one cup before losing power.

that sucks

i'm nervous about a couple of trees that made it through the tornado (though we lost something like 8) but that look like they're just waiting to hit the house
