It's looking more and more likely that Peyton will need another operation on his neck, ending his season before it began. Don't draft Peyton or any Colts receiver. 9/5/2011 2:05:06 PM |

^^^^^ You must be out of the loop. The Colts just shut him down for the week. The way these things go, he could be out indefinitely. A second operation is absolutely being discussed, and many with sources inside the organization now believe that surgery is the likely outcome of this situation. It's been nearly 4 months and he still can't throw the ball with any velocity.

^^ I would 100% go with Moreno....for week 1 in my yahoo league Moreno is projected at 10 points while Best is projected to get 5....Moreno is playing against Oakland who sucks at run D but good at pass D....also consider that Willis McGahee (the #2 rb behind Moreno) is projected to get more points than Best (7) 9/5/2011 5:59:11 PM |

had a 12 team draft yesterday (but was too drunk afterwards to care to come in and post it here):
QB - Matt Schaub RB - Ray Rice RB - Frank Gore WR - Greg Jennings WR - Austin Collie - this Manning business is going to get him on my bench more than likely WR - Johnny Knox - soon to be the #1 receiver again in Chicago, and they lost olsen... TE - Jason Witten K - Sebastian Janikowski DEF - New England - I even got them relatively early- defenses started going real early in this league, even though we have standard scoring
BN - Colt Mccoy - I might end up playing matchups between him and Schaub if he has the breakout season I'm predicting BN - Marshawn Lynch - blah BN - James Starks - I really think he has potential to break out when ryan grant sucks it up BN - Sidney Rice - I think if he stays healthy, he will do well on a shitty Seahawks team BN - Steve Breaston - lol maybe he can work his way to #2 in KC? he is a gamble and will be a quick to drop guy BN - Nate Washington - I think he has potential with an underrated Hasselbeck throwing to him now, but another quick to drop guy
I like my starters (except for the fact that my receivers are a little weak) - my bench sucks. It seemed like everyone was gone real early for a 12 man league. I put some serious gambling on Mccoy, Starks, and Sidney. Not my best performance

yeah, I like to do 2, but me and saps both run one that we are both in, and you talked me into yours, and I had one other friend talk me into his... 4 teams is going to be hard to keep up with, and like you said, you end up having bitter sweet days from certain players- I'm going to just focus on who I have and not my opponents, because I don't want to not play someone in one league because I'm going up against him in another- that has bit me in the ass before, and I just need to start my starters- like dude man said earlier, that's why I got 'em!
haha speaking of which- question for another league... should I start Moreno against Oakland or Mendenhall against Baltimore... nomally it is a no brainer, but the matchups actually make me think Moreno

have the #2 overall pick tonight in my 10-man standard scoring (non-PPR) league. got money on this one. i'm thinking if peterson is there i'll definitely take him, but not sure about who to take with him gone.
i'm leaning foster, but the hamstring is a concern with him. chris johnson is just as much of a concern to me after missing all of training camp and the preseason holding out.
any thoughts? 9/6/2011 4:27:09 PM |

LOL came out of an auto draft with Manning, Reggie Wayne, and Arian Foster. Fuck shit damn. Hope Foster's injury does not impact his production too much. Stuck with Orton right now as my Qb, will be looking to trade for a guy like Stafford or Cutler as fill-ins. Please get well Peyton. 9/6/2011 4:42:32 PM |

^^^^^ You're in the same boat as me with weak WRs. You might want to go snag a good back up QB like a Stafford or a Bradford since Schaub is known to be so inconsistent and I don't have too much faith in McCoy, he is a high ceiling guy though. Love your 1-2 punch of Gore and Rice.

Quote : | "Moreno is a central character in John Fox's run-focused offensive scheme, but Willis McGahee is poised to split the workload and vulture goal line carries and more. There should be plenty of work to go around given Fox's nature of calling the run, but Kyle Orton has actually looked decent this season and the pass will be called too. I personally do not trust the workload of Moreno and will not until he clearly gets more carries and delivers on his fantasy value over McGahee. Start Moreno with caution in Week 1 and if you can, keep him on the bench." |
^^ Peterson then CJ, does everyone forget about Slaton at Hou? As soon as Foster fudges up / gets injured someone will take his spot and produce just as well. Wouldn't touch Foster with a 10 foot pole. Just my opinion though.
Just like everyone else, I gotta post my team. (Pick 1 12 team .5 PPR)
QB - Brady RB - AP RB - Ahmad Bradshaw RB/WR - Felix Jones WR - Ftiz WR - Sydney Rice TE - Vernon Davis K and D - no one cares
Bench RBs - Shone Greene, Thomas Jones, Ben Tate WRs - Mike Thomas, Pierre Garcon, Malcom Floyd, Emmanuel Sanders
Hate my WRs, Love my RBs. Any opinions this week about Rice or Thomas in that last receiver spot?
btw - Everyone, please before you post anything, provide an answer or state your opinion on the post(s) above you.

12 team league - I had first pick. QB - Matt Schaub RB - Adrian Peterson RB - Peyton Hillis Flex (WR/RB/TE) - Julio Jones WR - Larry Fitzgerald WR - Kenny Britt TE - Owen Daniels K - Nate Kaeding D - Jets HC (Head coach, +3 for a win, -3 for a loss) - Falcons Bench - Marshawn Lynch Bench - Jason Campbell Bench - Chris Cooley Bench - Robert Meachem Bench - LaDainian Tomlinson

Flex spot for week one I'd probably go with Lynch
Just drafted my 3rd and final money league tonight.
10 team league standard scoring; had 7th pick
Qb: Tony Romo Rb: Jamal Charles Rb/WR: Michael Turner Wr: Mike Wallace Wr: Reggie Wayne Te: Owen Daniels D/St: Texans (will substitute week by week basis) K: Rob Bironas
Bench: Brandon Marshall Tim Hightower Peyton Manning Fred Jackson Willis McGahee Lance Moore Lee Evans Jerome Harrison
If Manning is indeed out for Sunday which in all likelihood is the case; who should I start in Wayne's spot?

12 team ppr league with 1pt/25return yards
I picked 6th (yep, foster went 6th lol)
1. Arian Foster RB 2. Hakeem Nicks WR 3. Tom Brady QB 4. Ahmad Bradshaw RB 5. Antonio Gates TE 6. Cedric Benson RB 7. Anquan Boldin WR 8. Kenny Britt WR 9. Darren Sproles RB 10. Danny Amendola WR 11. Ben Tate RB 12. Jacoby Ford WR 13. LaDainian Tomlinson RB 14. Deji Karim RB 15. San Deigo DEF 16. John Kasay K
I hate my WRs
QB,WR,WR,RB,RB,W/R,TE,K,DEF starters
This league is for big $$ so a lot of pressure. The $ is so big someone else stakes half but I manage and make all decisions. Each transaction costs $10, so just to put it into perspective. Hopefully I've set us up decently (besides week 7 where I'll have to start my entire bench)
fantasy football season really makes me feel like a degenerate gambler......

I'd go marshall... Denver is going to be running the ball a lot and not passing as much going against a great secondary (same reason I am still contemplating Moreno over Mendenhall). Miami... well, I just think Marshall will get more looks 9/7/2011 9:37:14 AM |

Lloyd, no question. Oakland doesn't have Asomugha or whatever. NE will man handle Miami which means their offense isn't going to be on the field much. Oakland has ZERO weapons anymore other than some above average RBs that constantly get hurt. Their best TE is gone, their best defender is gone, they have a below average QB and average receivers.
Quote : | "Denver is going to be running the ball a lot and not passing as much going against a great secondary" |
No they won't. Denver threw the ball a TON last year.
I've got a trade offer:
I would receive:
Dwayne Bowe and Joseph Addai
I give up: Green Ellis Julio Jones
Thoughts?
My team:
PRiv V. Jackson S. Johnson (BUF) Michael Turner A. Bradshaw A. Hernandez J. Stewart K. Winslow Green Ellis Julio Jones P. Garcon AJ Green Ben Tate Philly DEF

^^so they lost Asomugha... they picked up lito sheppard, stefon wisnowski, and a couple of other talents... not to mention they had the 2nd best pass defense last year, and 29th worst running defense- I feel like this is not going to change much, and Fox (who is a run first coach) will continue to punch the ball down their gut as much as possible.
^I agree- take the trade (unless it is a keeper league and you want julio for future seasons)
Quote : | "Only one defensive starter is gone, but he will be replaced by a guy who has already started for Oakland in previous years. The offensive line will look a little different, but it will be much stronger because of the competition.
The Raiders will have one of the best running games in the league with McFadden, Michael Bush and rookie speedster Taiwan Jones. Campbell will be more comfortable under the same system for two years and he’s taking on a stronger leadership role. The coaching staff is one of the best they’ve had since 2002. The Raiders are the self-proclaimed “Team of the Decades.” Look for them to start off this decade with a bang." |

And even if Peyton did play, he hasn't had any real practice/work to get caught up- last time he missed a preseason, the first 4 games were doodoo.
