Verlander has only recorded one loss since the end of July. He's due for a poor performance 9/29/2012 10:30:54 AM |

Ssly ventura is probably #3 in AL coach of the year behind showalter and bob melvin. He's done a hell of a job. Especially with managing the young pitching. Kenny needs to help him out this offseason and get a few high obp guys. That lineup strikes out way too much. 9/29/2012 10:59:48 PM |

I think Robin did a good job but I'll remind you that Dunn and Rios, and Peavy to an extent, had horrible years last year and were essentially due for a bounce back to their career averages. Those guys were costing the team wins last year but had to be started due to their massive salaries.
You are absolutely right about how the Sox got ~85 wins from a pitching staff that was 80% rookies or sophomores. That alone is impressive. Still think Robin needs about 5 more wins for manager of the year consideration, though.
I don't mind strikeouts and don't view them as allergic to OBP (look at Dunn's WAR for example) but, even that being said, they are still striking out too much.

Marlins' thread is a joke.....
Guillen is such an asshole, hope he never gets another job. Sox are 10 times more likable since his departure. 10/23/2012 5:48:01 PM |
