Because congress has nothing to do with passing a budget or anything

Look, its really not a comprehensive plan and that's not even up for debate. They still have not outlined which deductions they will remove to make the plan cost neutral. We have various think tanks that have offered ways for how it might be done, but nothing from Romney/Ryan. By no reasonable logic is the Romney/Ryan plan complete.

Romney's entire strategy, not his "Plan" because what ever that is will never work and he knows it, is to blame the Democrats when his "Tax Plan" fails.

He's seen congress over the last 4+ years, Ryan has been in congress during that time. They know how obstructionist the republicans have been and they have no reason to believe democrats will not be the same. Right now his plan is to "sit down with congress" and "work across the aisle" but if he gets elected he will "discover" that, surprise surprise, the Democrats won't work with him!

So then he tells everyone it's totally not his fault! And that they should vote republican in the 2014 senate races because the democrats are being big stupid meanie-heads.

CNN's Candy Crowley admits Mitt Romney 'was right in the main' when he called out President Obama's claim that he immediately called the deadly attack on the Libyan consulate a terrorist act — though she first agreed with Obama and cut short Romney's response.

She said he was right that it took a while for the administration to confirm that it was solely a pre-planned attack with no public demonstration. That's why they had an investigation after all. What does Mitt want, the administration to blindly throw out statements about things it doesn't know about?

Mitt claimed Obama didn't call it terrorism. Mitt was wrong. Mitt got called the fuck out.

Yes, many of the people who trust Foxnews (and MSNBC) as credible new sources are this dumb.

Their argument is what he said directly after the attack was a passing comment about acts if terror in general and not that the attack itself was a terrorist attack.

It's dumb semantics.

no they aren't. I listened to the dialog on 106.1 this morning. He made a vague reference to terror, but not once that day did he say that it was a terrorist attack. Read the transcript or watch the video.

He said that America has not bowed to a terrorist attack. Then he said that we would find and deal with those responsible.

How would we do this if those responsible were just a huge mob of faceless random protestors who got out of control?

i watched Hannity last night and they were making this exchange sound like it was HUGE, like it was going to be the "needle that breaks the camels back". I have no idea how any sane person can take most of Foxnews seriously. It's utterly crazy.

arguing over the specifics is a distraction, because doing so is conceding the point that was made but doing so in a way that dumb Fox News viewers don't notice.

It doesn't matter what he said specifically when the message and point were clear. Fox News and Repubs are conceding the point and essentially agreeing with Obama they just won't admit that and are trying to hold onto an argument about if a specific phrase was used so no one notices.

Obama handled the situation much better than Romney, does no one remember that? Does no one remember how Romney's polling fall after the way he handled it? It's a great example of him not being presidential.

For fucks sake

Obama was referencing the 9/11/01 terror attacks NOT the assassination the day before. Even several weeks later Obama was still entrenched and blamed the whole thing on rioting crowds because of that video (which is ridiculous)

I missed the debate because of work. Catching up on it now.
Seems to me the that whatever guy you like is who you think won.
Obama stood up there and lied and the moderator was totally biased for Obama.

Here is one real gem.

Quote :
"OBAMA: Well, think about what the governor — think about what the governor just said. He said when I took office, the price of gasoline was $1.80, $1.86. Why is that? Because the economy was on the verge of collapse, because we were about to go through the worst recession since the Great Depression"

WTF? Really? No, that is not why gas prices were that cheap. It was because there was a good supply of oil and confidence in the energy/oil market was high.
“Worst recession since the Great Depression”? Keep on saying it and people will believe it. Obama is the one that made it true. His policies are why gas prices are higher and the employment numbers suck. His policies ensured that this really is the worst recession.

Quote :
"OBAMA: Governor Romney then also wants to spend $2 trillion on additional military programs even though the military’s not asking for them."

More BS. I know the DoD want more.

The price of gas did fall because the economy was slow and demand plummeted

Also, it was a dumb question because the President doesn't have anything to do with the price of gas

^Not BS, Romney's projected plan exceed the DoD request

Quote :
"ROMNEY: Well of course they add up. I — I was — I was someone who ran businesses for 25 years, and balanced the budget. I ran the Olympics and balanced the budget. I ran the — the state of Massachusetts as a governor, to the extent any governor does, and balanced the budget all four years. When we’re talking about math that doesn’t add up, how about $4 trillion of deficits over the last four years, $5 trillion? That’s math that doesn’t add up. We have — we have a president talking about someone’s plan in a way that’s completely foreign to what my real plan is. And then we have his own record, which is we have four consecutive years where he said when he was running for office, he would cut the deficit in half. Instead he’s doubled it. We’ve gone from $10 trillion of national debt, to $16 trillion of national debt. If the president were reelected, we’d go to almost $20 trillion of national debt. This puts us on a road to Greece. I know what it takes to balance budgets. I’ve done it my entire life."

Fuck yeah.

I really don't get why the whole embassy thing is such a big deal. I admit, I haven't followed it too closely, but here's my limited (abbreviated) understanding of what happened.

-It was attacked and the ambassador was killed.
-It was supposedly the result of a protest over a movie that got out of hand.
-Very soon afterward, there were lots of talks about how it could have been a coordinanted attack that used the movie protest as a cover.
-Then there were talks that the protetss might have been organized specifically to be a cover.
-There were protests in other countries as well over the movie

I thought very soon after it happened, it was recognized that while there might have been a protest, the attack was coordinated. So what's the HUGE deal?

Wrong. The economy is slower now than it was then.Prices are higher. Demand for gas has not plummeted for at least the last 20 years.

Never got that high were I live. But I do remember they were high mid-year 2008. I got a great deal on a truck because those prices were high and I knew the spike would be temporary

Gas and energy prices are high because Obama and his cronies want them high.

Gas prices were around 4 bucks during the 2008 campaign. Doesn't everyone remember laughing at McCain saying its was outrageous to be "paying 4 dollars for a box of gasoline!"

The gas prices fell right before and during the economic collapse, and Romney wants to say low prices are the sign of a strong economy?
