I hope whoever sold INO yesterday morning bought back in. It'll be going over $3 for sure today...it's already getting close premarket so far on very good volume. I say it will peak in the $3.20s-3.30s

Roche and Inovio Pharmaceuticals partner on Inovio's prostate cancer and hepatitis B immunotherapy products

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/roche-inovio-pharmaceuticals-partner-inovios-080000293.html

The deal is worth up to $420 million total, and I would imagine at least one more partnership (with other companies) will be announced before years end.

any guess at the opening price tomorrow for INO?

I'm thinking that with the news out it's just going to go down for a while. Maybe pick back up later in the month if they announce new data. I'd like to sell what I have now and buy back in when the pps is lower.

News update on INO:

seriously though - unless you're riding very short-term patterns, non-excitable news will already be baked into the market. you're better off focusing on value vs. price, even with these surging penny stocks.

Can all the INO haters explain why the hate? This company just completed a $420MM deal with Roche for only 2 products in their pipeline. They still have several other promising products, and with their current market cap at $472MM, it seems as if they are a bit undervalued. I understand being cautious, because they were a penny stock just a few months ago, but I don't get the hate.

I think its just mostly that a lot of us have seen this same song and dance before with Biotech/Pharma companies. I am not hating as much as just playing devil's advocate when I see people getting caught up in a run thinking its going much higher and that sorta thing.

For me personally, when I see a runup like that one had, I get out and am happy with my gain because more often than not its coming back to earth. It doesnt always happen but the odds are against you.

I hope it does for everyone. CPRX is the one that I follow. Been in and out of it several times over the years. Missed this last run up but will wait for it to come back and probably get in again.

sounds like blackberry is going private. big day for AAPL.

It's looking pretty pricey now at 12.5 FPE if you dont believe they can sustain growth though.

I bought some TSLA last week and it was up like 10% the 2nd or 3rd day which was awesome.

I know its overpriced on the fundamentals but it just seems like one of those that will go to an extreme valuation before eventually submarining. Anyway just bought $1500 hoping for the low risk double up for fun.

Just bought PSDV for 4.90

Their drug is up for FDA approval on October 17...it was just approved in the UK a couple of days ago, and it looks like it has decent prospects of getting approved here as well.

why would people think it was Twitter now and not before? it traded before with no fanfare as you can see there, someone spread false information of "OMG! I bought Twitter at 2 cents a share, it's cheap, buy TWTR low while you still can", and that person made a 400% profit trading it

This may run up into the 6.50-7.00 range prior to the FDA panel date. If it gets approved, it'll hit 10+ easily, if not...probably back to around 4 or so. It'll probably creep up again after the sell-off if it gets rejected by the FDA because they'll still get revenue from the European markets. I may lock in some of the profits just prior to the panel date just to be safe. There are rumors of a buyout, possibly before the FDA panel and Pfizer still holds around 1.9 millions shares @ 9.00.

I sold off some of INO to buy this...going to move it back over there after the panel.

Just a heads up for those that like to gamble a little.

^haha yeah pretty much...it should be fun to watch

Check out DCTH to see what FDA rejection gets you...I got killed on it back in April/May

Quote :
"This potential 100% to 150% upside must be weighed against what would likely be s sharp downside move of 40% to 50% in the negative case. There would be no $25 million milestone payment, Medidur would require another phase III trial pushing approval to 2018 and no payments based on Iluvien's US sales could be expected. While there would still be promise for pSivida based on Medidur, Tethadur and European sales of Iluvien, the investment potential would be meaningfully diminished.

So what are the odds of an approval for Iluvien, which has previously received two complete response letters from the FDA? In the last CRL, the FDA asked Alimera to conduct two new phase III trials which would be extremely expensive and could take three to four years to complete. Alimera believed that the information that the FDA needed to approve Iluvien could be provided from the data already compiled for the previous NDA filings. Alimera hired a consulting company to reorganize the NDA paying them $4 million and potentially another $2 million upon approval. Encouragingly, the FDA accepted the refiling and set the October 17th PDUFA date. This along with the previous approval of Iluvien in seven European countries suggests that there is a reasonable chance for approval.

I place the upside as potentially $9 to $13 with Iluvien's approval and $2.25 to $2.50 if it is not approved. I place the odds for approval as better than 60%. The approval by European regulatory agencies indicates to me that there is a persuasive case for approval based on the data in the NDA. I am inclined to think that the format of the initial NDA filing was flawed and with a better presentation of the underlying data that the US may follow Europe in approving Iluvien. I want to caution investors that these are guesses on my part meant to convey magnitude of the potential upside and downside. They convey more precision than is actually the case. Based on this reasoning, I think that the potential upside in the case of approval substantially offsets the downside if Iluvien is rejected."

That was wise. I should have taken that approach because I was not certain which day would be the bottom (Wednesday or Thursday). Bought SPY early Thursday and am okay with that.

At the end of the year could all of the common posters post their alpha? Could be interesting.

Did anyone else buy PSDV? I'm in for a decent amount at 4.91. I'm not seeing any concrete information, but we will apparently know the FDA decision pre-market.

Hopefully this one turns out okay....my last bio play that relied on FDA approval was unanimously rejected haha. If not, no biggie, I used a small portion of my profits from INO to play this one.

No one seems to know...they apparently announced the UK during after hours so who knows. Shutdown doesn't affect it at all. IIRC the FDA panels are paid for by fees.

^^Not necessarily...unless they want to get canned for insider trading. It's looking like after hours news. That big sell off was due to a large block of shares sold at once (institutional holder not wanting to risk? or MM bear raid?). No one knows anything right now.

There is a lot of money to be made off the gamblers with biopharm stocks. Lots of people buy into the hype of an upcoming announcement and gladly get out with a profit before having to take the big risk on a decision. That's one reason you will see a big drop right before an announcement.
