Why not Jeff Daniels? 5/6/2014 5:49:14 PM |
brownie27 All American 3030 Posts user info edit post |
I don't know that there's anything completely wrong with Daniels, but there are a host of names out there that are way better. I think having Daniels in Charlotte is one reason to not like him, they're not exactly consistent.
Mike Keenan is another name that sort of intrigues, but I'm not sure he'd come to Carolina. That's assuming all of the other teams with vacancies are contacting him. If they aren't, maybe we aren't either. 5/6/2014 6:56:07 PM |

Daniels hasn't done anything in Charlotte that could be deemed worthy of a promotion to head coach of the Hurricanes. Hiring him screams cronyism and isn't the way a "new regime" under Francis should begin. Want to tell the fanbase they can expect more of the same old shit? Hire Daniels.5/7/2014 11:09:48 AM |

yup, that was the series where boston was the best team in the league and had just swept the habs. When we beat them in game 2 all their retarded ass fans were saying stupid shit like: "YOU JUST WOKE UP THE BEAR" even though Boston had pretty much won nothing in the last 20 years.
Scott Walker mangled Aaron Ward in game 6 and their fans were pissed he wasnt suspended... then he went balls deep in game 7

I was at a friend of mine's place in Knightdale and we ran through his house losing our minds. Pretty sure I ran about halfway down the block in front of his house yelling too. Good times.
That picture also reminds me of Aaron Ward blocking me on twitter. Scott Walker was trending on twitter awhile back (the WI governor, not the hockey player). I tweeted that the name must be trending because he knocked Aaron Ward out again. I didn't tag Ward's @ username, just used his name. Obviously he's a vanity searcher and found it, because I tried to follow him after he took up a hockey news gig, and was informed that I couldn't do that because he had blocked me. Maybe he'll see this post after vanity searching on google. In that case, eat a bag of dicks Aaron Ward.

what I remember most about that season was the awesome tailgating. Seems like there were no crappy days between March and June, and the atmosphere was crazy. People had been waiting since 2006 to get a big taste of the playoffs and that team delivered 5/7/2014 2:39:22 PM |

I was never a fan of Ron's schtick, but he was a good sport about it, so I don't have anything harsh to say.
However, I'll never stop complaining about his blown icing call that almost cost me my only college shutout. 6/4/2014 7:01:26 PM |

I don't disagree with steviewonder often, but Ron can get fucked. I've been to enough Cool Bars events to see him more enthralled with hitting on beat up old women than being an official Canes representative while being paid to be there than I would have liked. He might very well be a nice guy, but he was awful at his job.

Quote : | "Karmanos named Penguins VP of hockey operations Thursday, 06.12.2014 / 10:25 AM / News NHL.com CommentPrintE-mail Jason Karmanos was named vice president of hockey operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, the first big hire under new general manager Jim Rutherford.
Karmanos, 40, is the son of Carolina Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos, Jr., and worked with Rutherford for 15 seasons from 1998-2013 while Rutherford was GM of the Hurricanes. Karmanos held a variety of positions with Carolina, including vice president/assistant GM and executive director of hockey operations.
"I've worked with Jason for many years, know him well and know he can make great contributions to our hockey operations department," said Rutherford, who was hired June 6. "His first priority here will be to reshape our analytics so that we have all the tools available in our decision-making process throughout the season."
Karmanos played college hockey at Harvard and attended the Penguins' training camp in 1996. He skated for the Raleigh Ice Caps of the ECHL in 1996-97 but had his career cut short by an eye injury.
He joins associate GM Jason Botterill and assistant GMs Tom Fitzgerald and Bill Guerin, who were named to their positions the same day Rutherford was hired. The Penguins also fired coach Dan Bylsma that day and are still searching for his replacement." |
