Hornets beat the Pacers again to get to 33-28. They are the 6 seed at the moment. Only 3 games clear of #10 Chicago and 2.5 of #9 Washington. But they're only 2.5 games out of the 4 seed. Gonna be a crazy final month+ in the East 3/5/2016 9:44:40 AM |

Kemba with 21 points last night ... in the 3rd quarter. Unreal. If he's commanding the game like that, there's only one team in the East that can beat them.
This was the first time I've seen Karl Anthony Towns play as a pro. Wow. That guy is a future All-Pro. Twolves have some awesome young pieces, just need depth. 3/8/2016 9:50:10 AM |

Mixed results for sure. Our problem is mkg is a nice player but it's so hard to get spacing with him out there. Especially with a black hole at sg prior to batum. No way can blame cho for Stephenson that should have been a good signing. Kemba finally got a jump shot we have some spacing. Zeller has progressed. Lamb has played well. Marvin having a good year. Got nothing out of frank though.
Really Jefferson was our big miss but he played ok year 1 of the deal. Nba just is moving in a drastically different direction and if your big can't guard the pick and rolls you're screwed 3/9/2016 9:53:26 PM |

Hornets keep winning, but so does everyone around them. Can't get seem to get much separation or gain any ground in the playoff seedings, even with a 5 game winning streak (and going 8-2 the last 10).
Whatever though. I think they can beat anyone except the Cavs in a series. So just avoid the 8 seed, and we're good 3/10/2016 2:16:57 PM |

It seems like AL Jefferson's return makes the team a lot better despite the loss of MKG. The chemistry inside the locker room is good. Captain Walker is leading the swarm getting into the playoff. 3/10/2016 2:25:56 PM |

We're playing well but unfortunately didn't make up enough ground on our streak. We close the season on the road a lot .
Looking like 6 seed and boston. They're more of a regular season team than a playoff one.. I think we can get a game or maybe two off them 3/14/2016 11:09:06 PM |

every team loses games they prolly shouldnt. Tough thing is that everyone else around the Hornets has been playing decently well themselves. Hornets are 8-2 in their last 10. Every team above them has been 7-3. So over that stretch where they've played as well as they have in many a year, they only gained 1 game on the teams above them. Still only 2 games out of 3rd with 16 games remaining. Four games in the loss column up over the 9th place team. 3/15/2016 7:27:13 PM |

Remaining schedule:
Magic @Heat Nuggets Spurs @Nets @Pistons @Bucks @76ers 76ers @Cavs @Raptors @Knicks Nets @Wizards @Celtics Magic
They have a 21-14 record against those teams so far this season. Games like the 76ers, Nets, Knicks will have to be wins.

I love this team, they have a little bit of everything. Once they got rid of hairston it all seemed to click, although that probably wasn't the main reason. Huge win tonight, especially considering it was in Miami. Gonna be tough down the stretch with 9 games out of 14 on the road, but i think they have a real shot at the 3rd seed, definitely the 4th seed. And with how well this team has played at home the whole season, if they have home court the first round they could definitely win at least 1 series in the playoffs, maybe 2. Kemba is definitely a top 10 point guard in the league right now, it's a shame he wasn't an all star, but maybe next season when the game is in Charlotte. Sending gerald henderson and vonleh to Portland for Batum might have been the best trade this franchise has ever made, and they've made some pretty good ones (seems to be the only thing they're efficient at). Probably gonna take a max deal to keep him after this season, but the way he fits the team and the way he is playing this year, it might be worth it 3/17/2016 10:34:31 PM |

I agree with most everything in the last two posts but I'm blanking on our good trades...
I know we have had a few but seriously i can't think of any that would rival the batum trade..
The only trade i can think of is gifting Tyson chandler to Dallas and watching him lead them to a title while we got stuck with najera and Carroll TERRIBLE contracts haha...
Josh mcroberts was a good one.... Okafor was.... Richardson was decent... getting rid of Ben Gordon? Someone help me think of one that rivals batum.. granted batum is a 1 year rental if we cant resign him but I think we will.
Courtney lee was a nice pickup. And yeah kemba went OFF in the 2nd quarter great game to watch.
This team is genuinely good. Can't see us beating Cleveland or Toronto but yeah we can definitely compete in a series..
I just know this franchise is snake bit and we will probably have someone get hurt prior to playoffs. Just how it goes 3/18/2016 12:27:59 AM |

Courtney Lee is looking like a solid trade -- especially considering we also unloaded brickman PJ Hairston.
I went to the game on Friday, and Lee might have been the guy who surprised me most. He is really, really fast from end to end -- much more so than I realized. Good defender and shooter too, though his shot is a little ugly. Seems like a great complement to Kemba and Batum. 3/18/2016 10:42:24 AM |

Yeah he got posterized on the play of the night haha.
He's lucky he came into the league when he did. The necessity of having a stretch 4 has basically ended his career. If you aren't a ken Faried level pf you're worthless if you can't shoot. And even his value is limited relative to his value a few short yearun ago.
Honestly Hansbrough wouldn't even be drafted i don't think if he came out this year. Just zero upside.
It's why Cuban was arguing for a deeper 3 point line. Haralabos agrees. It's almost gotten dumb if you aren't a dive man or a 3 point shooter you're worthless.

That was one of the best comebacks I've ever seen.
What a win like that has to do wonders for their confidence with the playoffs right around the corner. It's been so fun to watch the maturation of this team over 70 games. They've really embraced the system and bought in on the defensive end.
They can't let it slip tomorrow in an obvious letdown situation. Brooklyn isn't even sniffing the playoffs, and we have to get the W there if we are going to make a run at the 3 seed. 3/21/2016 10:14:38 PM |

We're 41-30 right now with 11 games to go.
We've got games with the Knicks, Nets, Bucks, and two with the 76ers left to go. 50 wins isn't completely out of the question.
We're also in a three-way tie for 4th in the East with the Celtics and Hawks -- and only one game behind the Heat for third.
Should be an interesting last couple of weeks. 3/23/2016 9:41:55 AM |

Frank flashed some serious potential in that 1st quarter.
That fitzpatrick kid didn't miss it felt like.
At one point in the 3rd they had ~60 points with 20 of them from the line and we had only attempted 8 free throws. Then, Hawes gets a T for complaining what should have been a whistle. Fucking refs...

That's true. We have plenty of options to choose from when Kemba isn't doing well: two Jeremys, Batum, Frank, Williams, Lee, etc.

Looks like 47-35 most likely. Really can't argue with that. Looking more and more like the #6 seed and a showdown with Atlanta. They've kinda found their stride as of late.
I think I'd prefer to play Boston if i had my pick. They just don't really have anyway to improve in the postseason since they already play hard and they rely on depth more than studs.
From an entertainment standpoint I'd prefer to plan Miami that's a good stylistic match up and we'd get some national attention. A series vs Atlanta will just get buried on nbatv.
Interesting offseason with Batum, Marvin, Lin, and Jefferson all going to be free agents.
I think Batum gets a very near max offer something like 4/$80 and ultimately stays in charlotte. I would agree with this move.
I think Marvin gets like 3/$30 and I'd agree with this move.
I think Lin leaves with a 3/$16 deal though I'd like to keep him.
I think Jefferson stays with a 2/$14 deal but I'd like to let him leave 3/27/2016 12:05:35 AM |

Pretty big litmus test coming up with Cleveland and Toronto. I don't expect them to win, but it would be nice to see them compete and be there at the end with a chance to win.
If they could nick one of these it would be a nice confidence boost to keep the momentum up moving into the playoffs. 4/2/2016 8:05:11 AM |

Our year end schedule is pretty brutal. Guessing 3-4 or 4-3.
I don't want any part of Atlanta because i think they'll dispatch us and we'll get zero attention even if we win the series.
If we play the heat we'll get the most attention due to their star power and the fact those games should be stylistically interesting to watch.
Boston games could be ugly to watch but very competitive. Moderate attention since neither of us are even fringe contenders though.
I hope we get the 4/5 just because I'd rather see us play cleveland and get attention if we do well than be an afterthought vs toronto 4/2/2016 12:10:26 PM |

We peaked a little early. Kemba has been slumping and weve returned back to an above average team instead of being one of the hottest teams in the league.
Definitely a successful regular season though especially with MKG injury.
The future of the east is sorta wide open right now with the cap spiking and premiere free agents but i could see us retaining batum, marvin and adding MKG and making the playoffs again next year
