^stupidest way ever to think of sports, if those things don't happen the game plays out totally different. Can't just assume 14 point swing.

With that said the Nichols penalty is such a horrible play. We stop their momentum get a punt settle down on defense maybe and who knows how things play out, especially since we were able to move the ball.

No, they absolutely did not. They thought we ran the score up on them last year & they were trying to do that to us.

Nicholson's late hit penalty was absolute killer. It went from a 3rd down stop to a TD on the next play.

Defense got abused and put the offense in a position early to pretty much have to play a perfect game the rest of the way. Couldn't help, but think of the type difference Thornton could've made on those missed red zone opportunities where we turned the ball over on downs and had to settle for FG's.

Will definitely be nice to see Frasier/Dayes/Gallaspy in the backfield next year, but we need to fix our defense and find some WR's. Hopefully McClendon looks better than he did in mop up duty this year.

I have been kind of down on Jacoby lately but the announcers made it sound like all game no one could get open. Maybe the lack of passing game is more On our receivers, although Jacoby did still miss some open touch throws.

I'll be happy when we get to the point 8-4 is the minimum to be bowl eligible and they can all these worthless bowls. Teams like us this year do not deserve any post season play it appears likely they are gonna have to pull 5-7 teams this year to fill slots which is stupid.

i mean, i agree that 5-7 teams making a bowl is dumb. but i don't think they'll ever make 8-4 the threshold for making a bowl. it's about making money...the rewarding teams thing is secondary.

if it's about deserving postseason play, then half the teams don't deserve to make the NCAAT in basketball

wr's almost never got open.
when they did, jacoby couldn't make the throw.

coaching sucked (not an exhaustive list):
* running hines over and over with very little success. we have gallaspy, nichols, and samuels, you psychopaths
* twice kicking fieldgoals when down multiple touchdowns. our kicking has been laughable all season
* locklear and grinnage got 2 receptions each averaging 12.5 and 18 yards respectively and barely got looks all season
* way to be woefully unprepared for a big game. doeren whines about fans... gets a great crowd on saturday and takes a huge dump on the whole thing giving up 35 points in the first freakin quarter
* why hasn't a.j. cole been kicking all season? he's no hauschka, but at least better than what we had

No need to do that but I think there should be a minimum strength of schedule factor. We won 7 games, but the first four were against ridiculously soft competition and its shows as when we play average competition we lose.
