This whole show would have made a much better 2 hour movie[Edited on July 21, 2024 at 2:37 PM. Reason : Just so much useless filler to fill out 8 episodes]

There were so many good ideas, and really, really well-done fight choreography. Some of the best we've seen. But the pacing was just so wacky, and the flashbacks just made it worse when it might have been better off simply using linear storytelling. The use of flashbacks even made no sense sometimes. I think it was the next to last episode (?) and we're under the pretext that Sol is the one telling the story (when he tells the twin to shut up and listen.) But all sorts of things happen in the flashback that he's not a part of, and the overall flashback doesn't seem to represent his POV at all. It's objective. There was no Rashomon pattern, like in Last Jedi, where we see different perceptions of the same event. It was just an episode set in the past.

AJAB?Guess we'll never get an explanation of what exactly Ascension is or what the covens plan for the girls was? Or did I miss all that? Also is that weird guy in the cave the top Sith lord, so one of the three have to die?
7/27/2024 2:11:45 PM
Spoiler: Weird guy in the cave eventually is killed by Palpatine, so maybe both of them will die.

Finally got around to finishing the Acolyte. Remember how in all previous Star Wars media, light saber color was explained as being determined by the kyber crystal? And that is why Sith always have red sabers, because their crystals are synthetic because for whatever reason they don't have access to the natural ones?So I guess that was just a rumor. The real reason they are red is because they are just really pissed off. But not Darth Vader in his fight with Obi-Wan though. Despite being so pissed off that he slaughtered a bunch of Jedi younglings, choked his own wife, tried to kill Obi-Wan, and got his limbs cut off/burned alive, and became the most powerful force user in the galaxy, he still wasn't as pissed off as Osha. His saber stayed blue.[Edited on September 13, 2024 at 10:52 AM. Reason : ]

I didn't watch all of the Acolyte. Just seemed like a train wreck. Good example^ it would seem. And it was cancelled, so hopefully they're righting the ship with their SW content.

Enjoyed the first two episodes of Skeleton Crew. Gives me the Gen X fuzzies. Loved how they used speeder bikes like neighborhood bikes.

Did a rewatch of Andor. Absolutely fantastic show. I love seeing the inner workings of the empire, far removed from any Skywalker/Jedi talk. I can’t wait for season two and seeing if we get any background information on Luthen. The prison episodes were just good TV. I’m a little biased though because I feel like Rogue One is probably one of the best movies out there in the Star Wars universe.

Well it is (Rogue One).

I watched it. It was decent, but I don't know... it just didn't feel completely put together. Season 3 in particular felt rushed.and this show is definitely better than some of the other Disney stuff, but a common issue I see in all Disney content is that all the actors... despite being diverse in age and race and what not, feel the same? they all have the same kind of vibe around them... I can't exactly describe what it is, but they're all kind of the same. the expressions, the way they talk, the expressions, their general dispositionNothing really beats the prequels for me. I should rewatch them, I don't think I've actually seen the movies outside of clips in over ten years

'twas alrightI like the worldbuilding, and it's definitely better than most other star wars content, and I'm glad it's there for me to watch, but given the nature of the show and how they move around so much every episode, you don't stick enough anywhere to actually feel the characters or setting even though they do have some depth. the overarching themes are good, but they're just fed to you, so you don't get the weight needed for being amazing TV like some want to call it - it doesn't leave enough of an impression. let me put it this way - you don't actually feel the chaos/uncertainty/tension, it's muffledpretty good, and it will be heralded for more than it is because it's just so much better than all the other star wars content these days (as far as I've heard), but personally I think the prequels were superior[Edited on May 8, 2025 at 6:47 PM. Andor Season 1 is probably my favorite Star Wars content of all time (coming from someone that’s not a fanboy). Season 2 is not up to that season 1 level, but I’m enjoying it quite a bit, and don’t necessarily agree with ^They did want to do like 4 more seasons and ended up jamming it all into one, so that definitely causes some of the issues and we do have all these time jumps to cover everything, but I think they’re doing a pretty good job. Looking forward to rewatching Rogue One afterwards.

^same. After the series ends I will be rewatching Rogue One.Perhaps I'm an idiot, or just not a big enough Star Wars fanboi, but what's the significance of the BBYx tags shown early on in a few episodes.

^^yes^agreed! So so good. I feel like its been years since I've seen a series finale done as well as this one.

Do we know who killed the empire guy, Lonni Jung, who reported to Luthen? Was it Luthen who took him out? or the ISB?

It was Luthen

So I just watched the first episode of season 2 last night.Sure it was pure fan service, but I thoroughly enjoyed the up-close and personal with that advanced TIE fighter. And again, the inner workings of the empire, going through how they were going to basically dismantle a planet for its resources.Great TV.I couldn’t care less if Star Wars never mentioned the force again if they could continue making series like Andor.

Finished the finale yesterday. Just a great series. Season 2 was definitely not as good as 1, but still great tv and better than a lot of the new shit currently airing. Followed up with Rogue One today, I think only second time I’ve seen it since first watched when it came out. What a fantastic, complete experience.
