it did on my Evo. except facebook is down right now for a lot of people so it may have something to do with that. --------------------------------------- all you Evo owners - there's a new OTA update that fixes the 30fps cap that I'm looking forward to. I'm going to wait for FreshEvo's next build with it in there.
Or i may give cyanogen a whirl if he updates first. how about you guys? still running stock?

There's also a small update now available for the Fascinate. Doesn't really do much other than get rid of the nagging signal lost alert and make it where you can hit the search button without disconnecting a call.

is there a list of things that are safe to delete (bloat stuff) 9/22/2010 7:51:02 PM |
Azaka ///Meh 4833 Posts user info edit post |
Pretty much anything EXCEPT backup assistant is safe to remove. I'd advise moving it off the phone instead of straight deleting because it will cause problems with further OTA updates if they are gone (another reason not to use them). 9/22/2010 8:51:09 PM |

^^I used these instructions: http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/26/droid2-rooting-method-works-for-droidx-running-froyo/ and had to add in adb kill-server after step # 12
keep in mind that I had never done this/used SDK, etc.... a total n00b and moron at it and I got it to work
as far as bloatware... I created this list for 2.1. I imagine it's nearly the same for 2.2. It's best just to rename from .apk to .bak then wait a day or so, make sure all functionality you need is there then copy them to the SD card or your PC. Don't delete. And there are many more items than just the backup that you can't delete.

If you have the 2.2 leak do NOT try to install the OTA on top of it.
dweedle, did you put the DoRoot files in the SDK's tools folder? The reason it wants you to do that is because that's where the adb.exe file is. If you did do that bring up a command prompt, navigate to that folder (the one with adb.exe) and type in the command "adb devices", this will start the adb daemon and should show your phone if the correct drivers have been installed. If it does show your phone you should be able to run the .bat file. If not, you need to install the right drivers so that it will show up.
Also make sure you have USB debugging on, sometimes it only works in charge only mode.] 9/23/2010 6:28:37 PM |

Has anyone with launcher pro had problems getting the Launcher Pro "contacts" (or maybe it's "people") to show any specialized list. ie, other than the entire list of contacts? I can't get it to show my favorites, or starred lists 9/23/2010 10:10:44 PM |

i went back to htc sense
i was experiencing lagginess and it kept restarting launcher pro just about every time i went back to the home screen - wasn't working out for me even though it looked nice. even my ROM dev has removed it from his ROM in the latest update yesterday (FreshROM) so i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one.
and now that i'm not capped at 30fps, htc sense zips along on this 1ghz proc...it's beautiful. 9/24/2010 2:22:21 PM |

Quote : | " Software Upgrade Required to Fix DROID X Text Message Issue On 09.24.10, In News, by Kellex 1diggdigg Share4
There is a known text messaging issue with the Droid X running official Android 2.2 that Motorola is apparently aware of and already working on. According to their forums manager, their dev team has realized that an actual software upgrade is the only way to fix the problem.
Most right now are reporting that the issue has to do with text messages appearing out of order, but from my early experience with the leaked 2.2 and after talking with one of our readers, the problem is actually in the date and time settings of the phone. Messages aren’t appearing out of order, but are showing with a 4 hour time difference to when you actually received the message.
What’s funny about this issue, is I ran into so long ago and was unable to find a fix. At the time, I had a pretty good idea that the OS was to blame, but figured it was a big enough problem that it would have been ironed out in the official version. Apparently I was wrong and should have made a bigger deal out of it.
It should be noted that the problem is found in the native text app, Chomp and Handcent so there is really no work around at this time." |

jaZon, if you really want the 2.2 OTA (which I don't know why you would) you'll have to SBF back to the .604 build and then upgrade from there. Or you can just get the 2.3.15 from Team Black Hat which is the same thing but pre-rooted and deodexed and without the signature/keys change. 9/25/2010 11:38:40 AM |
