well, its minimalist for sure. theres only room for a few credit cards and a wad of cash in there. i did get my credit card and id, a cellphone and a tube of lipstick in there. its nicely made, but i havent used it yet- definitely too delicate for a daily driver and i haven't had an occasion yet. i thought $75 was a lot to blow on the black, but i have a leather fetish and its definitely a unique design. however, if i had gotten the white for 120 i probably would have been dissatisfied and wishing i had gotten the kors clutch instead.

Have any of yall convinced someone to quit wearing cake makeup in favor of something less obvious, more natural, and with a lighter touch?

If so, how?
I've got a friend who has been wearing the wrong shade and WAY too much of it for as long as I've known her (Since 2005). Today, she commented on my makeup, and we started talking about makeup, and I FINALLY got a chance today to say 'your makeup is AWFUL'. She was like "I like this stuff because it covers EVERYTHING! And when I sweat when I work out over lunch, it stays put!" It's seriously Tammy Faye-esque in terms of similarity to spackle.

Part of the problem: she's literally not comfortable in her own skin. I mean, FFS, she takes issue with having pinkish skin, and not perfectly beige skin.
Another part: she views makeup as a total mask, not something that's a little extra.

Sounds like she's amenable to coming over and letting me play around with my stuff (I've got bare minerals, and everyday minerals, and lots of other stuff that will prove useful) I think I might be able to convert her just by showing her how to use another form of makeup, but I don't know. A single afternoon won't convince her it's okay for skin to show through.

You could take her to clinque/mac places in the mall and let them choose the right shade for her. They're there to help you and show you the right shades and the right way to use make up. The results will probably boost her confidence too.

^^ Take her to sephora, it's their job to fix people up and show them proper techniques

^exactly

For mother's day a few years ago my sisters and I took my mom to have professionals tell her what to do, and bought her the makeup. After leaving Sephora my mom had a guy ask her out!

ok, those ribbon shoes might be one of the only summer shoes that could work. i have wide feet, so strappy stuff never fits me.

^^go for something contrasting with the dress. you could totally do a bright color with it. or go neutral, too. depends on the day/event/etc.

I'm not so great with fashion but pink seer sucker would luck good with white accents in the summer time imo. A very classy look in my mind at least. But that picture of the dress is kinda small to tell the details of the dress.

yeah...that's what i was thinking too...

either white or maybe silver if i wanted to be fancy...

it's very simple...just pink/white seersucker with small white tubing around the waist...

yes, yellow was what i originally thought.

but white or neutral/tan/dark brown could work as well, along with silver.

i can't decide on flats or heels to go with that dress...

i love really high heels but i couldn't wear them just anywhere...

so i'm thinking about going with cute sandals...

maybe i should get the ribbon shoes to wear with it

heels, which you can still wear anywhere because its a casual dress

and the guy photographs like total shit. I think i already told you, he isn't really attractive other then having piercing blue eyes. However, he is normal, stable, super laid back, sarcastic, non-neurotic, successful, sweet guy.

I think silver would be hot, and you can just do silver straps if you're afraid of going too far.

well... i must say there is one massive exception to that

Gah, Hes just so fine and huge i can't put sentences together when we hang out, its REALLY bad and I typically hate built guys. But generally hot guys are dicks and can't seem to rationalize the way out of a paper bag. Your really into the hot guy thing? I guess i could see you being into that muscle thing

haha...i really don't like muscles very much at all...unless it's really lean muscle like some skinny boys have...

(with one exception as well)

but i do like good looking men....at least good looking to me...

i've had several of my gfs tell me that my taste in attractive men is impeccable...

"you may not always think the dudes we like are good looking...but EVERYBODY ALWAYS thinks the dudes you like are hot as hell"

Oh the exceptions! I know what you mean though, there are certain people that may not be your preference in the looks department that are still undeniably good looking. Next time i hang out with the stunner i may have to give you a ring, he fits in this category

i used to have a casual thing with a guy my girlfriends called "the hottest man in America"...

he was the Iowa State heavyweight wrestler back some years ago...

HUGE...BUILT...GORGEOUS...SMART...

man...i need to give him a call...

and weirdly enough...we had our thing when i was like 50 pounds heavier and looking like shit...
