I played the game A LOT and I got to know it pretty well. If you played as any of the faster characters (Fox, Shiek, Falcon) it wasn't too difficult to do combos and stuff like that in the air. I think Roy and Marth actually had one of their special moves as a combo. One of Falcon's moves was when he grabbed them in the air then jumped off of them. As far as destructible environments, there were only a few, but they "grew" back. I'm pretty sure you could destroy a good deal of Brinstar and it would fall all over the place. On Mushroom Kingdom you could destroy all of the blocks, etc.

Mario Party 8 got a 5.2 from IGN and a 5.5 from 1up. Both sites say the motion controls feel tacked on for most of the mini-games. Gamespot gave it a 6.5. All sites agree that the game can still be fun if you find at least three people to play with.

Might cancel my preorder and just wait for Planet Puzzle League next week.

As cliche as it sounds, right now it's going through the 'growing pains' every new system has. Early games tend not to take full advantage of the hardware, many are rushed ports, etc. But usually Nintendo can be counted on to bring polished games to the table.

Kid Chamleon came out Monday. Now that was a cool game in its time.

Mario Party 8 has tepid approach, as all MP games just feel eh without lots of free time and people.

Strikers however, being online multiplayer, has me all over it in june.

Its interesting to see how some games get good reviews and some games get bad reviews. Super Monkey Ball Wii is terrible, yet it gets tons of good reviews. About 5-10 good minigames, 3 times as many bad ones, attrocious motion sensing control tacked onto to single player for no reason, etc. I seriously thought of Monkey Ball when they were describing what was wrong with the minigames in Mario Party.
