Still think all of this was just a ploy to drum up interest in UNC football. That from the get go it was all a sham and they'll get out of this unscathed with more national presence.

No it wasn’t a sham all along. Thats just silly.

But it was the only way to get such a huge investment in UNC football. They wouldn’t have gotten this level of investment from the university and boosters had they hired somebody else. So if the investment remains after BB and they get a coach who actually knows how to coach at the college level and isn’t 70 and isn’t just butthurt about not getting an nfl job then they’ll probably be fine.

“National presence” has never been UNC’s problem. Not fully committing to football (with money) has been one of their main problems.

^^ Supposedly, most of the assistant coaches were/are making calls to other teams for openings and positions to land when they exit UNC.

I'd assume they'd all leave for greener pastures, with a few exceptions. Would be a wild west type saga and quite hilarious.
