ok i got criticized for this play last night, but i think its a bit standard of a laggy style. you guys? quick and dirty style, gotta go to class soon.

1/2 nl game, im sitting with ~320, other guy has me covered by ~$50.

i raise up AsQd to $11 in the hijack, he is the only caller in the BB.

flop comes Ad 2d 7d

He checks, i bet out $25, he check-raises to $75, i push all in.

yes/no?

hahaha damn dude. but really i guess technically thats a really good thing to have that many chips on the line with an 81% chance of winning. just sucks when their 18% chance actually pays off

a long time ago on Pacific Poker i was having a good streak of heads up. I got confident and went to a 100 heads up. First hand i get AQ, flop is A 8 3 rainbow. I raise, she goes all in, I call and lose to a set of 8's. That one stung a while.

what a load of shit... no phone number on their site, and they want to do a security check. they sure as hell weren't worried about security when i made that deposit. as soon as this one clears, i'm cashing out the rest and keeping my money somewhere that's not so fucking shady.

In reference to Sean's post:

steveiev: shows [Qs 9h Kd Jh] (a straight, Ten to Ace)
DrOldSchool: shows [Qh Ac Ts 6h] (two pair, Aces and Tens)
*** RIVER *** [6s Td As 5d] [Ks]

I think its a matter of hand selection. The [Qh Ac Ts 6h] doesnt have much going for it.You have a flush draw but its not the nuts. Two pair in Omaha is a relatively marginal hand and any straight or flush possibilities that show up on the flop should definately be taken into consideration. You have only four redraws to a fullhouse and many of the cards that you need may very well be in your oppenents hand. I would dump the hand to avoid the above situation seeing that once you flop it the hand is quite difficult to get away from.

Take a look at the other hand combination [Qs 9h Kd Jh]. All of his cards are coordinated; they work together. On a flop that hits hard you may have the nuts or be drawing to the nuts. The hand is clearly the stronger of the two.

Your play seems fine, just dump trap hands you'll be fine.

here's the deal.

jonnySim and I roll out to the airport, flight leaves at 415. I have arranged for a buddy to pick us up at the philly airport, and then he is driving us into AC. Gonna have dinner at the Ceaser's buffet (immaculate) tonight, followed by trying out the new poker room ceasers opened up. Late night, probably head over to the Taj for red bulls and limit stud, then ultra late night head over to the borgata for the 1/2 nl or 2/5 nl clean up work on the guys trying to win back what the lost on the night. mid morning head to the trop, and hit up either the nl or if the pink chip game is going that late (prob. not) hit that up. play till check in tommorow.

That or buy into the 80+20 taj 1215 tournament, and play till check in. Probably try and play in 2-3 of these, they runa t noon and 6pm daily.

sleep for a few hours, then play a few hours at the trop (gotta fufill my room comp play) then head over to the borgata for 2/5 nl unless the 10/20 lhe is bangin or the 1/2 looks pretty good.

rinse repeat untill thursday evening when we have to catch the train to the 30th street station in philly to hop another trian back tot he airport. get back to raliegh about midnight thursday.

This should be fun

Im really hoping that the taj 2-way 10/20 half kill is a go while im in town this trip. split game of lo8 and 7cs8.

The goal for this trip is to NOT blow multiple hundreds at wasted off my gourd craps. Hell not playing craps at all would probably be the best bet

i have no idea how i happened to end up at the table those guys were fucking around on. but yeah man, that table was wild. those kids were hilarious. i saw them talking about you in there later on in the night.

i play .01/.02 NL sometimes when i feel like playing NL. my bankroll sucks ok, we cant all afford to play multiple 20+2s every day hahaha. and its so easy to make money on the micro tables. especially when there are people like you guys there giving money away and i can just sit around and wait on a hand to call 4 peoples all ins with... but even when the play is normal, its so easy to double up there. ive never had a problem getting called when i make a good hand on those tables

but mostly i play the $1.00+.10 (45)SNGs and .25/.50 fixed

Trip Report from the trip to come. pretty damn wild actually. the poker was as cold as ice to me, but still had a blast.

one quick note before I try to write up a nice full report.

It was quite possibly the worst "bad beat" or whatever ever in the history of man, and it doesnt even have to do with poker.

So im coming from the pit towards the poker room in the tropicana, about 4am. I hear some guy wailing like someone ran over his mother with a bus, so i go and check it out. He is sitting in front of a progressive slot machine with a the progressive jackpot at $1.015 MILLION. His girl apparently was playing it, and the reel line up indicated teh progressive jackpot had been hit, but the thing wasnt going bananas or lighting up at all. Upon the floor manager comming over I find out that she wasnt playing on max coinage and therefore the progressive jackpot wasnt actually hit. She gets a few hundred, but not the jackpot. not spending that extra quarter basically changed their lives forever.

Moral is, dont play slots for one, but if you do, always play max coinage, you loose a substantial bit of your recovery EV if you dont. Same with video pokers.

Im going to go eat some lunch and watch the basketball game. a few key hands from the pink chip game (7.50/15 LHE) and some nl hands to come.

motherfucker. typical story. happens all the time, but it happens at the worst possible times

got to the end, a little above average stack. AA. i raise, and got reraised by like 2 people after me. so of course i pushed, and got called by THREE people...

AA vs QQ vs JJ vs fucking A5o

and the only guy that had enough chips to take me out hit his Q. hahaha i almost feel like i should fold aces preflop when there are that many assholes in the hand, even though i'm a favorite over the other 3.

had the chip lead in the other one i was playing, and of course i blew through that stack in about 4 minutes after the other table. time to take a couple days off!

What are the preflop percentages on a hand like that? If I am playing tourney style and it is at end game, usually you are up against people that at least have a clue. So when I get two callers, depending on the payout situation and how many chips I am holding, I'll lay it down and let the others fight it out. It's the classic, do you let one guy get taken out to move up 1 money position, or do you go for the gold and have a huge chip lead and be in a better position to win the whole thing.

yeah i was playing to win.

but now i cant remember if i pushed or if i called after one of the other guys pushed. all i really remember was that i would have been way ahead of everyone else if my hand held up. but the more i think about the odds and the 2 guys with smaller stacks, i really dont like the call (if i called) -- since between them they have about 342348237 outs, which makes my hand pretty vulnerable

i need to request the hand history so i can remember

either way here are the win/tie percentages:

AA: 55.69 / 1.01
QQ: 18.23 / 0.32
JJ: 15.98 / 0.32
A5: 9.09 / 1.01
