^^Seriously? Reread my post. I'm clearly aware it's 8 pm Denver time.

My point was that from a national TV perspective, you'd think they'd want more people watching, and would try to get the game on at least an hour or two earlier. A game that finishes around midnight is going to have a more difficult time pulling in ratings.

7:00 local time would have been better.

Holy fuck...look at those weather conditions. Does anyone remember off the top of their head when we've played a national game of importance in snow or sleet before? I know we've played in rain, but this is pretty unique.

^^ I doubt many of our guys ever play in the snow. They postpone matches a lot in the UK for snow or very cold weather. And it's not like the Californians, Southerners, Floridians, or Texans are climatized to it.

^ We've not played an important match vs. Canada since 1997. That'd be the last time we've played up there.

There's no way snow and cold weather helps the Costa Ricans more than us.

Having lived in Costa Rica, I can't imagine what the ticos are thinking right now. It's quite likely many of their players have never even seen snow before, let alone played in it!

Yay Ian Darke!!!

Am I the only one who doesn't have any problem with Bocanegra being left off? I mean, there's no way he's in proper form for next summer, given that he has been on the decline for a while. Isn't it better to get the guys in who might serve in those roles and get them a little battle testing when it counts?

This is nuts.

Also, wazza31 totally missed the point of my post on the last page. But since he's a Brit, not that bright, and shouldn't be posting in this thread in the first place, I'll let it slide.

We look good...controlling possession, not seeming to be bothered too much by the snow, aggressive play. Altidore is looking strong up front.

Everybody saying this game is ugly or whatever and I honestly don't think it's any uglier than our 2nd half against Honduras or the entire friendly in Houston before it. We look pretty good so far. Beasley's working out well at LB. Cameron has had a couple of bad giveaways that should probably have been punished but all in all, not a bad game. Gotta give Jozy some props too. He's playing very well.

I like Ian Darke, but enough about this being "farcical". Why is it ridiculous to play a GAME in the snow? Because the passes won't be neat and tidy? No wonder Americans think this is a sport for pussies. This game is awesome.
