I was selfish and decided to work and make money because going to school certainly was not paying the bills. Plus school was getting tough and I was one of those "I'm too good to study..." people. I wanted her so much, but she made her expectations clear. When I decided to drop out of school, I decided to give up the thing I loved most at that point. Like a fool, I gave up an absolutely 1 in a billion girl for my own selfish reasons. I was too young to understand the consequences of my decision. Today, approx. 5 years later from when I first saw her, I was driving by campus on Hillsborough St. A girl caught my eye. She was wearing a light blue bandanna... It was her. It was most definitely her. My heart instantly collapsed inside, unprepared for such an amazing opportunity to reunite with someone who had planted a seed of positive influence. I rushed to park 2 blocks away from where I spotted her and ran my ass off to catch up to DH Library... I had failed. She was gone, out of sight in all directions. What I would give to have her back in my life, to let her know the person that I've grown and become. To let her know that I'm finishing schooling and that I've started a family. To just be her friend because it's people like her that made me strive so something so amazing. I miss her energy. I want her to know that I didn't continue down that path as a bum. "
