Prosecutors Are Demanding Information On People Who Visited An Inauguration Protest Website https://www.buzzfeed.com/zoetillman/prosecutors-are-demanding-user-information-on-people-who
Quote : | "Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to force a web-hosting company to turn over information about any individuals who visited a website that coordinated anti-Trump demonstrations in Washington, DC, on Inauguration Day.
The company, DreamHost Inc., disclosed information about the government's search warrant in a blog post on Monday. DreamHost said that it is fighting the request, calling it "unfocused" and "unlawful."
"The request from the [Justice Department] demands that DreamHost hand over 1.3 million visitor IP addresses — in addition to contact information, email content, and photos of thousands of people — in an effort to determine who simply visited the website," DreamHost said in Monday's post [emphasis theirs]. "That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution’s First Amendment. That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone’s mind."" |

I'm just gonna re-post what I said month's ago because it bears repeating. Stop trying to micro-analyze him like he's a typical politician. He's not.
Quote : | "Honestly, at this point, people need to start wising up to the fact that those of us on the left who have been screaming at the top of our lungs for years about opposing all the systems of power that have been put into place (by both parties) which were ripe for abuse were on to something and not just being political reactionaries. We constantly declared that the systems of limitless surveillance, police militarization, and for profit everything would eventually create a system that would be exploited by the worst person possible. That day has arrived.
People need to stop being surprised now, and start thinking about action and meaningful forms of resistance. No, that is not hyperbole. This man is a sincere threat to the stability of the republic, and everything within his history suggests that he will use any and all tools at his disposal to lionize himself and punish his enemies.
To answer your original question. YES. He is setting up a narrative to strip voting rights away from citizens. The right wing has only won ONE presidential election popular vote since the 90s. Think about that for a second.
Now let me translate other popular Trumpism's, and put those in plain English for you as well.
When Trump blasts the media, either through his speeches ("opening up those libel laws"), twitter (they're horrible people), or through his nitwit minions (alternative facts), what he is really saying is this:
"I will silence the media. Only official propaganda will be endorsed. Only friendly media outlets will be given access, and adversarial journalism will be punished."
When Trump says that he wants to be a "law and order president," (remember, he said this after the Dallas shooting) and revoke the citizenship of flag burners, he means this:
"I will target communities of color who oppose me, especially the BLM movement. I will crack down on protests and unconditionally support law enforcement and grant them any means necessary to silence dissent. I will ramp up surveillance and begin spying on my political enemies in order to retain my power"
When Trumpycat says he will build a wall, or even add a Muslim registry, he means this:
"I will create a tiered system of citizenship, and revoke the rights of the poor and the weakest among us. I will create an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in order to dissuade meaningful resistance."
When Trump says he will end the period of "political correctness," he means this:
"I will create an atmosphere where sexist, racist, and bigoted language is tolerated, and I will not condemn or disassociate with radical right wing groups who are now free to take advantage of 'stand your ground' type laws, or 'run over protester' type laws."
YO, THIS MAN IS DANGEROUS. This will not just blow over and return to normal. We are at a very significant point in history right now, and inaction should not be on the menu." |

I know a lot of people agreed. I just think it's important that people (mostly moderates) realize that our institutions are not going to correct themselves. This will not be solved at the ballot box. And his dog-whistles need to be vehemently rejected rather than dissected for "reasonable" ground. He's deliberately and specifically targeting certain groups (BLM, Hispanics, Muslims, etc) and he'll very soon realize that he can add "leftists" to that group.
Moderates need to pick a side. It's uncomfortable, and it's scary. But there is no compromise to be made 8/15/2017 6:41:41 PM |

I'd argue today he did just that.
Part of me thinks that it still all comes down to one thing in his puppy-sized brain and that is "good for Trump is good and bad for Trump is bad." But when the good for Trump is making sure people who like him (KKK/Nazi supporters) get protected that starts to be something that needs action.

This is an outstanding point, but I'd like to modify it slightly. The institutions can absolutely correct themselves at the ballot box - IF people start voting in ALL the elections instead of just the Presidential election.
