what's wrong with snagging early commits? this isn't like in basketball where guys will commit in their freshman and sophomore years and then open it back up when they get hyped. these guys are heading into their senior year and they know where they want to go. good, early commits help the class look better to some kids who are thinking about joining said class.

side note: i saw terrell hartsfield reclassified to 2011 and committed to texas tech.

This kid doesn't seem like the Culliver-type(underrated jumping on his first offer). His parents both went to State and he grew up a State fan, apparently always wanted to go to State growing up, so I think he'll be solid for us.

uh, this happens a LOT more in football than it does bball. part of that is because there's a lot more players, but i hardly ever hear about bball players changing their minds, cothron not withstanding

^ Rivals got their measurements from a combine last year, so they're closer to correct. The 40 time came from that combine, and everyone was slow there. WR Maurice Harris ran a 4.99 at that combine, and he has offers from damn near everyone.
