quick question....

does all this mma bull make you a better fighter? as far as i can tell, there are people that can whoop your ass and those that can't. i can only fathom that boxing/kick boxing/ler drit/etc can help if you can already beat somebody down.

push mowers are ftw. You hate it when you're doing it but it is pretty good exercise. I used to love to put in my noise canceling head phones and mowing my parents' yard. The only thing that made it hard was that back then I still had CD players instead of an Ipod so it was sorta big in my pocket

We had a small house, but about 2 acres of yard to mow with a push mower.

leg day at the gym. I think my lifting numbers are finally back to where they were before I got married. It's amazing how much muscle mass can be lost while on a 2 month long drinking and vacationing binge.

I play guitar. I just sit on the bike and play the wireless guitar. Joe said I couldn't do it but I proved him wrong.

I wish I could play the drums while riding the bike because I am actually really good at those but the foot pedal on the drums causes a problem.

You would be surprised how fast an hour goes by when you're playing guitar and riding a bike. It's not even like working out. hahaha

yeah after i posted that i realized that drums was kinda impossible

hubby does hours on the treadmill while playing Killzone and Call of Duty. so yeah, i believe it - playing a video game will make cardio go by really fast. it's funny when he'll randomly duck while on the treadmill cuz someone in the game shot at him, and then all of a sudden he's standing in the middle of the room cuz he has hopped off the treadmill

^again with the crossfit!

ugh, it's just another passing FAD! there is a reason that lifts like the SQUAT, BENCH PRESS, POWERCLEAN, and DEAD LIFT for between 3 and 8 reps have been generating great bodybuilders, powerlifters, athletes, and amatuer gym rats for decades.

I'd venture to say that King Arnold, Franco Columbo, Lou Ferigno, dorian yates, Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman, Louie Simmons, Bill Pearl, Frank Zane, Steve Reeves, Jack LaLane, Bill Weider, Nassar El Sabatay, Jay Cutler, etc have done the cross fit routine. Didn't seem to hinder their physiques.

eh, it was after my memorial day binge weekend, I was 200lbs that friday before memorial day, I was 205 on wednesday when i got back to campus. So that's 5lbs that actually was just bloating, I could get super detailed as to what I've done to drop a net 10 somewhat real lbs since last wednesday, mind you, another 5lbs was likely water weight and the other 5 is hopefully mostly fat and some muscle loss. My strength really hasn't gone down too much. I'm consuming around 2400 cal/day so I'm definitely not starving myself. You'd be appalled at my macros though.

CKDs just shed glycogen stores and water weight before the carb-up. I used to fluctuate 15-20lbs a week doing CKDs. They take a mental toll on you though with mood swings and energy levels, so I eventually quit dieting that way. CKD got me the leanest I've ever been before though.

today was a makeshift shoulder and arms day. Probably not a good idea considering that I was planning on spending the rest of the day leveling a patio site with a shovel.
