seriously...i fully believe in the UNC media bias and everything else, but this is ridiculous.

I didn't imply this was a conspiracy against ncsu recruits; reading comprehension bitches.
Especially in small towns, cops know who the kids are that cause trouble, and if they're higher profile, athlete types, cops like to make examples out of people (i guess you could also make the case that in some places they probably let athletes get by with more). 4/3/2010 3:33:24 AM |

Off-Topic, but Matt James, an offensive linemen out of Ohio died during a spring break trip to Panama City, Fl.

I remember him from when I kept the recruiting board going and while I don't know if we ever had a chance with him, I thought I'd add it to the recruit thread. 4/3/2010 9:54:32 AM |

Is Obrien going to start recruiting better or what? He may arguably be a better coach than chuckles, but the level of talent we have now is pretty low. We are putting far fewer players in the NFL. If I were an outsider, I would say that lack of talent clearly explains our decline. 4/16/2010 1:04:08 AM |

O'brien is slowly but surely getting his troops in here, Ill be HIGHLY surprised if we see the atrocity this season that we saw last season! 4/16/2010 1:15:23 AM |

Well, the facts of the matter are that he was regularly pulling in top 25 classes and we were regularly finishing much better than we are now.
Act incredulous all you want, but we are really bad. I was surprised when I looked the info up just now -- seems like Lowe is getting much more heat than Obrien for roughly the same or better results. Football takes longer, but it's not clear that we are improving (as it is with basketball). 4/16/2010 1:26:23 AM |

^^ It doesn't help when all of you have had two seasons with ridiculous amounts of injuries. We are gradually building and it will take us a little longer than certain other teams because we will not be handed a national ranking for Meinike Car care bowl losses. 4/16/2010 7:35:56 AM |

You do realize that the "talent" TOB had the first 2-3 seasons was recruit by Chuckles right? TOB is bringing in guys that fit his system, but for the past three years, he's been trying to change the culture of the program without forcing a bunch of freshman and sophomores on the field unless he had no other choice.
The only thing I can fault TOB for right now is the hiring and current retention of Archer. Two very poor moves that might actually get him fired. Recruiting is not getting TOB fired.4/16/2010 8:00:32 AM |

Well as long as we can get Drew Owens then I'll be happy. He has a pretty nice offer list. Of the three big time TEs in NC (Ebron, Owens, and MacLain), I think he might end up being the best of them all. He has better size than UNC's Ebron, and better speed than Clemson's MacLain. I just hope that we can beat out South Carolina for him. Also Rory Anderson is a decent prospect, but I don't really think we land him. If UGA offers he'll probably go there.

he reminds me of Ben Wallace.
Based on that offer list, we'd be really lucky to land him. FWIW, PackPride shows he has high interest in South Carolina. He can pretty much choose wherever he wants to go. Unless he grew up a Wolfpack fan, I wouldn't count on it. We're pretty deep on the chart with tight ends right now: Bryan, Watson, Talbert, Carter... 4/19/2010 3:31:48 PM |

look, if the dude has another 5 win season but one of those is against unc, he will be golden.
However, MOC and CTC lost their cred with losses to UNC (MOC never beat them and he wasn't a BAD coach).
Despite what everyone claims, NCSU does not have unrealistic expectations in FB. Yeah, would I have liked to have seen better last year, sure, but we beat a (better) unc team for the third straight year. Fucking TOB keeps a good record against UNC, we'll give him time to build a program. I think he is a good long term coach (not great but good). He's a Dick Sheridan if we give him a few years.
That being said, he better not have a year like 2009 with a unc loss... 5/13/2010 11:35:09 PM |

Gainesville (GA) defensive tackle Thomas Niles has become NC State's second commitment for the class of 2011. Pack Pride talks with him about his decision.

NC State picked up a pledge earlier today from southeast defensive tackle Thomas Niles. The 6-foot-2, 260-pounder picked the Wolfpack over offers from Tennessee, UCF, FIU and Middle Tennessee State.
