I like that pryor owned his mistakes and accepted the NCAA ruling without deflecting and without being butthurt, i think hes an average QB hes like Wilson, just makes too many mistakes at the wrong time, but at least when he runs the ball he isnt looking for the first opportunity to dive to the ground

I'm a hater, I'll be found

I could care less about the SEC, I just got tired of seeing OSU consistently being in the talks for the national championship game year in and year out. This win will guarantee them a pre-season top 5 ranking and then they'll use that to their advantage with their weak schedule to be #1. Granted most of the top 10 teams do this but at least some of them have stronger conference match-ups.

- After this bowl season their in conference schedule looks especially weak.
- In a past season people constantly talked about a 2 loss OSU making a national championship appearance even when there were teams with better schedules and better records. I just got sick of hearing it, especially after those two consecutive blowouts they had in the championship game.
- The whole THE Ohio State thing just gets on my nerves.
- Now after this (admittedly trivial) tattoo thing it appears like OSU is another school that's simply above the rules.
- Memory is hazy but it seems like OSU was propelled to the national championship game one year because all the good teams were busy beating up on each other in their respective conference championship games while OSU got to kick back and watch their stock go up. They needed the perfect storm to make the appearance and it happened. Granted it's a double-edged sword. Their stock could have gone down in a perfect storm scenario and since they didn't play there was nothing they could do about it.
- Recently they always get a huge boost in the rankings by beating severely overrated conference opponents. Like a top 5 Penn state. Of course they beat them because there's no way Penn state was #5 and of course they go up a few spots because they just beat #5. Not actual numbers or teams, just an example.
- The whole Little Sisters of the Poor thing. It kind of reflects the attitude of many OSU fans I know. They think their schedule isn't easy and I'm starting to hear a lot of people say that they purposely pick those weak local OOC opponents out of charity - so the small guys can earn the big bucks. Maybe so, but don't pretend that you aren't getting several wins out of the 'deal'.

Now that they have a conference championship game I'll start feeling like their BCS appearances are more earned than they were before.

I wish they'd just move to a playoff so all this stupidity of being selected as one of the two lucky teams to go to the championship game would just go away.

And it makes about as much difference as an ACC team going to a BCS game. The ACC is weak but I never hear people talk about how a one loss VT should go to the nat. championship game ad nauseam.

too much stock is placed upon program history and matching up teams that "travel" and either recreatign some classic match up in a bowl game or hand picking two teams because they hadnt played eachother yet

its also an injustice that Miami of ohio wins their conference and place at shit o clock on what-the-hell day against some subpar team.

Yeah, all of the non-ACC teams that I find myself pulling against are a direct result of the system that uses popularity to pick 2 teams for the title game. I'd factor the computer in that, but doesn't the preseason poll all but destroy the computer models?

Not sure how much the rankings factor into the computer formulas, but I don't see how many teams outside the preseason top 10 - 15 could ever rise to top 1 or 2, unless most of the top teams lose a couple times.

OSU haters are lightyears more annoying than OSU fans

Ohio State really isnt any different than most other top tier teams. Its not their fault that the Big Ten has been down lately, it would be a lot worse if they DIDNT beat the other teams in their conference. Next year they play at Nebraska and at Miami (they also play Colorado at home - a game thats been scheduled for years but will inevitably be another point of contention since Colorado isnt a very good OOC opponent), plus the Big Ten will have a championship game.

Thats really all OSU can do now, they arent going to leave the Big Ten, so they just have to continue to dominate their conference and win the championship game. They have enough talent coming in year in and year out, along with great coaching and upperclassmen, so it would be ludicrous to say that they dont deserve to be a preseason top 5-10 team. Plus, dont forget that Ohio State beat Oregon and Arkansas in BCS bowl game the last two years, proving that they can play with anyone in the country (if that was ever actually in question)
