Time will tell but so far he's built two programs up pretty damn well. The Missouri Valley is no joke. It's consistently stronger than the Colonial. He's had a solid season for a mid-major this year, take your hate-blinders off. Winning the NIT would be a huge accomplishment for Wichita State. It took Mark Turgeon, a pretty solid coach, 6 years to make the NCAA tournament there.

In the past 4 years, Marshall's biggest wins are over fucking virginia tech or texas tech. Any good coach would have bigger upsets. There is absolutely zero evidence that Marshall can get hot and win a big game. He is just average. Meets but does not exceed expectations. We don't want him.

I just checked. In his entire fucking career, Marshall has 1 victory over a ranked opponent -- #20 Texas tech last year. Texas Tech did not finish the season ranked.

That's mediocrity right there. Even Sidney Lowe can do better. Building up a solid record against shit opponents, flaming out in the NCAAs, and recruiting at a low level does not qualify you to be the next coach at NC State.

Anyone want to guess how many wins over ranked opponents VCU has over the last 2 years versus Marshall's 10+ years?

Only small time organizations seeks to hire people with "solid" records. They won't make waves. They will keep their head down and achieve acceptable results. Only loser faggots would be satisfied with that at a major basketball program.

Marshall is not even worth any more discussion now that Smart has emerged. Smart is the lowest we can go, so we don't have to worry about sinking to desperation hires like Marshall.
