the tank looks to be an M60 Patton. if that is the case, finding diesel to run it should be easier to find than say, a type of jet-fuel.

Remember the aquariums, the governor loves his zombie fish. Also he is a sociopath who enjoys admiring his kills.

I think the governor really had reformed, really had changed b/c of that little girl...

but, then he saw that karma was after him - the river styx blocking his escape (mud pit), the "liar, rapist, murderer" signs

so then he was like "welp, if I'm going out, I'm going out as Guvner!"

you know, if I was the governor at this point, I would leave rick alone right now

there have to other prisons out there, just take over a vacant one, an army of walkers is easier than 20 armed people

but then we wouldn't have a show

im guessing the battle will make the prison useless, and they will be on the move again

maybe they will find some people who like hunting on the road

Disagree.

This show is Lost all over again. Fucking contrivances that make not sense just to push the story along.

-Why didn't the governor kill Michone the first chance he had?
-Why didn't Machone kill the governor the first chance she had?
-Why did Lily cap the Governor? Megan died because she wasn't paying attention, not any fault of the Governor.
-What the fuck was the tank aiming for?
-Why did everyone abandon the prison? They had ample firearms and could handle the small-ass group of zombies approaching. Oh no, they dropped one prison wall. They have massive weapon caches just hanging out outside for just such occasions like last week, right?
-good guys are fucking sharp-shooters, bad guys are storm troopers. Even with a tank. "Oh, you see an exit wound, I'm perfectly fine!" Fucking 13-year old headshots two people with a pistol with no attempt to fire back.

This episode made zero sense and everyone is ok with it just because it gets them out of the boring old prison.

Yes

As far as sharpshooters vs. stormtroopers I thought both sides were unbelievably bad shots when it comes to hitting humans. Rick's crew was on high ground and spraying their shots against the governor's militia folks who were vulnerable as fuck standing around the front gate. Half of the militia should have been dropped before the tank even hit the fence.

The part were the fat black dude was running and then jumped behind the vegetables was difficult to believe... The one chick was an army girl for one thing.

They covered these pretty well I thought. Michionne had that long talk with herschel about this. She just didn't want her hatred of the governor overtaking her, letting the zombies finish the job rounds that out.

Same on the governor's side, he wanted to leave the past in the past as much as possible.

Quote :

I thought it was because she realized what a monster the governor was, how he got all her friends and family killed basically, because of his vendetta to take the prison.

Enjoyed the episode, but I lolled about how bad of a shot the Governor's folks were. Rick was standing right there in front of like 8 of them. They all had rifles and automatic weapons and nobody managed to severely damage him.

After Michonne left the Governor I was really worried they would just leave it at that so I'm glad Lily came along and finished the job.

Really creepy about that one zombie hanging out underground for however long. Would it decompose faster though? Wouldn't worms and other insects and stuff just tear it to shreds? Then again I guess other insects and stuff would normally be eating other zombies so I'm just being picky.

1. The Governor needs Michonne and Hershel to enter the Prison. How does he know there is a council? The council is his trump card? WTF?!! There is no reason for him not to torture Michonne to death.

2. Why did the assholes in the tank pop their heads out after the Governor made his dramatic statement?

3. Why do we care about Rick and Carl's relationship?

4. Why do we care about Rick and his baby girl's relationship?

5. Could they drag out Hershel's death in a more contrived and unartistic fashion?

6. This show fucking sucks

7. The governor is still alive. She probably grazed his ear or some shit.

I'm not done.

8. Who is feeding the rats? Why would they not set up a perimeter? Can't wait until this is the season finale reveal. It's fucking D'angelo Barksdale!!!!

9. Speaking of the plague survivors—some of these people lived in Woodbury, didn’t they? Wouldn’t they have opinions about seeing their old boss show up? I mean, I guess that would’ve meant getting to know even more forgettable secondary characters, but the complete disconnect between storylines is odd. (stolen)

10. I realize smart people abandoned this show along time ago which means I'm a fucking retard.

11. This show fucking sucks.

12. I'm now stupid for watching this show. I'm especially stupid for arguing about it.

What exactly was it that Cutty was showing Rick and Daryl in the basement? Looked like a rat's imprint on a glue trap I guess?

I thought the episode was pretty good overall

there were some bullshit aspects though

- why was Carl using a lever action rifle when the prison had tons of high capacity fully automatic weapons?
- how did Daryl not get shot when the 'enemies' were lighting up that soft ass zombie body he was using as a shield? before his fake grenade made a small fireball and some smoke instead of shrapnel that would've also killed him at that range

but i'm not gonna stress unrealistic firearms too much, it was a pretty good episode

It was a rat with its skin peeled back and nailed open on a board.

"-Why didn't the governor kill Michone the first chance he had?"

They've been beating the answers to those questions over our heads since the Gov. reappeared on the show. I mean, they held onto the "the governor may have changed" idea right up to the very end as Rick was speaking and he let the sword down for a minute. It was thin. I'm sure most people knew exactly what was coming. But they blatantly tried to make people think he changed even just a little right up to the very end.

They couldn't have milked that to the very end if he had killed Michonne on sight.

Plus, she was legitimate leverage if he was serious about taking the prison without killing anyone. I think he may have tried to kill Rick no matter what, but he did seem to legitimately give them the option of leaving.

Quote :
"-Why didn't Machone kill the governor the first chance she had."

Didn't she? Correct me if I'm wrong, be he got her and Hershel at gun point in the woods and took them hostage. Then he had her tied up. Then he had her on her knees outside of the prison tied up. Then everything happened, she free, and I'm assuming dealt with some of the others in that area. And then she put a sword through his chest (just in time to save Rick for dramatic effect). The dude was toast/as good as dead. She left him there to die/turn.

Quote :
"
-Why did Lily cap the Governor? Megan died because she wasn't paying attention, not any fault of the Governor."

1) because he's a shit stick. Everyone who was wounded or killed in that episode were hurt because of him. He caused all of that and it didn't have to happen.

2) Put him out of his misery/kill him before he turns. Again, he was done. Just like he shot her daughter in the head just moments before so she wouldn't turn, and how he had to kill her father when he turned.

3) I think it's not much of a leap to see how she may have blamed him for Megan. He decided to go after the prison. She didn't want him to. He left them behind (not protecting them), to pursue something she didn't really support. If he had been there, with them, Megan may not have gotten bitten. Could he have definitely saved her, no. But she may very well believe it to be true or that she would have had a much better chance. So it's not much of a stretch, especially the way movies/tv shows go, to think that she blamed him in the heat of the moment for choosing to go after the prison over staying with them. And remember that that was right after she was bit, and everything going done. It was an emotional reaction. You're asking for reason immediately after her daughter died. In a few days, she may think "despite him being a douche, megan dying wasn't his fault". Oh, and to her knowledge, her sister is at least missing if not dead. She's pretty much alone now.

So part mercy, but necessity, and part "she probably thought he deserved it"

To be "sharp-shooters" how did no one manage to cap the governor when he was standing in front of the fence during the initial fire fight. I realize it was probably like 250 yds but couldn't have been that difficult.

"1. The Governor needs Michonne and Hershel to enter the Prison. How does he know there is a council? The council is his trump card? WTF?!! There is no reason for him not to torture Michonne to death."

As everyone else pointed out, this was completely explained in the show. The Governor didn't want to kill Rick and his people, he simply hoped he would show up with his tank, present his 2 prisoners, and Rick would take the easy way out. That way he secures a safe home for his new followers and does so with no bloodshed, which would also make his followers more appreciative of him and prove his intelligence/leadership. If he kills Michonne or Hershel, how is he suppose to tell Rick that he's changed? "Oh I've changed Rick, I want this to go peaceful, you get your people out of our prison. We have Hershel, but I killed Michonne. I've changed Rick, but I still held a grudge." And he made it known that he didn't want to attack the prison, mainly because he knew it would lead to it potentially being damaged or harder to defend, which is a smart strategy.

Quote :
"2. Why did the assholes in the tank pop their heads out after the Governor made his dramatic statement?"

That guy was a dumbass throughout the entirety of his time on the show, plus he seemed like the kind of guy that would brag and wanted to be a tough guy. Plus I'm not sure but I really thought that guy was sitting up there the entire time that the Governor and Rick were discussing the situation.

Quote :
"3. Why do we care about Rick and Carl's relationship?"

Because they're 2 of the main, and longest-running, characters on the show. Carl is probably the only thing keeping Rick progressing at this point, esp. now that he believes Judith to be dead.

Quote :
"4. Why do we care about Rick and his baby girl's relationship?"

Rick has a tendency to lose control of his mental state following tragedies that hit his family. I think we're going to see in the next season more of the hardass Rick, aka pre-farmer Rick. He now believes his baby is dead, thus I think he's going to be able to focus 100% on keeping him and Carl alive and on the search for the rest of the group.

Quote :
"5. Could they drag out Hershel's death in a more contrived and unartistic fashion?"

Everyone watching this season knew Hershel was dead, it has been coming for weeks. I thought the way he died was fitting. Him beating Hershel to death when Lilly walked up is what really amplified his ruthlessness in her eyes.

Quote :
"7. The governor is still alive. She probably grazed his ear or some shit."

Nope, and glad he died in a format that was close to the way he died in the comics.

Quote :
"8. Who is feeding the rats? Why would they not set up a perimeter? Can't wait until this is the season finale reveal. It's fucking D'angelo Barksdale!!!!"

I've thought this was pretty obvious all along. It's the crazy little blonde girl that shot the lesbarine chick in the head. She's not sane, she hasn't come to terms with zombies and death yet. She obviously is intrigued by death, the frog was peeled back so she could study the insides. She was feeding the rats to the zombie that she gave the name to and got upset when they killed him. Her shooting the people in the head was just further pushing the idea that the little girl is a bit off kilter, not exactly normal behavior for a child that age.

Quote :

Do you really think they'd want to side with the Governor? I'm sure Rick and them explained in detail what exactly happened and how the whole story actually played out. Plus the fact that they have found a new home and then he shows up with a bunch of guns and a tank and demands them leave and give up their home, why would they want to trust him?

The show isn't perfect, but many of the things from this episode were really going back to the comics. I thought it was a solid episode. And the "Sharpshooters vs. Stormtroopers" idea, you have to remember that Rick's group has actually trained with guns and fought against human opponents, most of that other group looked like they hadn't really had any combat with humans(the fact that they were slow to take out the other group of survivors for supplies). It's much different shooting at a bunch of bumbling/stumbling zombies and shooting at people shooting back at you. Hell a couple of the people on the Governor's side looked like they had never held a gun before.

I was hoping they'd pull some of the things from the comics, but I'm fairly certain Judith isn't dead. I knew if she died they'd have it off screen since I could see AMC catching a ton of flack for showing an infant eaten by zombies, but the fact that the baby seat's harness was undone(don't imagine a zombie would have unbuckled her), and can't imagine there wouldn't be any bones or anything else left over.

What's wrong with that estimation? Lori got knocked up after the outbreak, had a baby, and they've been in the prison for 6-8 months or so at least since the baby was born. Maybe not 2 full years, but at least a year and a half, if not a little longer. Certainly not so far away from 2 years that I'd question someone's overall intelligence over the matter.

i haven't watched this show in couple of weeks so I'm just judging by you guys' posts

so the only main people they killed off were Hershael(sp?), who has been asking to die since the beginning of the season, the Governor which is "duh" and the baby?

did they actually show the baby dying or did they "imply" it ?
