I think the big story from the punter we got was that we got a player from the UNC-CH uber stronghold of Wilmington and Hoggard no less. Rams Club boosters down there are probably ready to blow something up

Mike Leach would be fun as hell to watch winning games 52-45 and shit but I am not sure we want that negativity here. Still if he turned things around and won 9 games a year here, he would be golden.

Does anyone know what three schools Dominique Noble narrowed down to, and if we are one of them?

I believe it's Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Wake Forest...football recruiting is going disastrously so far.

I know the Barths are from Hoggard, but I went to school there and I would say the more kids who graduate from there go to State over UNC. At least when I went to school, circa 2000

Did you guys know that our old WR Donald Bowens tried to transfer to UF, but was denied admission? HAHA...what a fucking loser. He will spend the next year (his last year of eligibility) at North Alabama.

^^ That sucks in terms of depth on an already weak secondary, but he was just an add on to getting Crisp to NCSU. Also with all the dumb stuff he got caught up in with the law over the last year or so I'm not sure TOB really wanted to have to deal with that.

1. He didn't try to transfer anywhere. He was using his year of eligibility as a grad student, which means going to a different school, one with a program not a available at your undergrad school.
2. It was USF
3. Fucking loser?
4. Suck a dick

Singer isn't a big loss.... not to mention he seems to have a lot of issues with drinking and carrying a gun.

So we had Bennett and Ward coming in to help with the special teams and field position. Ward isn't coming and now Pack Pride is reporting Bennett won't enroll either. Cjakowski can kick FG's, but isn't the best kickoff guy. And we still don't have a damn punter..........

you're an ingnorant a-hole for saying this. Bowens was fantastic in hist first year and had had to deal with nagging, difficult spinal injuries. He's also very well spoken, had a great attitude, and represented NCSU very well in post-game press interviews. In summation, you're a douche.

In his defense D-BO put in NOOOOO effort on a lot of plays last year. It was frustrating. Also, lets be fair I did like him and felt bad for him but it was dumb oof him to try and go to Florida. He had 0 opportunity to play there.

I was a HUGE fan of T.A. McLendon, when the fucker was on his game he was unstoppable for any defender! But, i was hoping he would get over his knack for fumbling the football, he had some crazy speed/power when he ran down field. Does anyone know what he's up to now?? I'd take him back as our 2nd string back for this season in a heartbeat! (Actually, the way he could overpower folks, and break away with his insane speed, with our thin secondary I would test him out there...he would knock the shit out of opposing Wide receivers!

Yeah, when (and only for a short time) TA was "ON", that dude was unstoppable. Absolutely one of the more fun RB's in college football to watch. Homie would bulldoze people and not slow down. Damn I miss that....

Yeah i remember watching him against FSU once, and he ran circles around there whole defense! I think if I remember correctly he even injured a dude who tried tackling him b/c the force in which he ran with was so freaking crazy. Yeah, I hope he's doing well wherever he is, the students during my undergrad years there went crazy whenever he touched the ball.

His freshman year, TA was probably the most explosive and entertaining RB I've ever seen at the college level.

Unfortunately injuries combined with a poor work ethic were his undoing. There's nothing worse than squandered talent.

He was good, but come the fuck on.

He might be on the fringe of the best 10 freshman in the past decade.

Top 10 NC State freshman or NCAA? I haven't seen a true freshman run like he did pre injury in my lifetime.

Nationwide, of course

Clarett, Lewis, Rodgers, Petersen, McFadden and probably a handful more had arguably more dominant freshman seasons than did T.A.

at state he is 9th all time rushing (Andre Brown is 7th for perspective)

3rd all time in career TD's w/ 33

1st in both TD's in a game & season

he did put that 5 up against Texas Tech his freshman year

i wasnt making a point
i was just posting his stats b/c i doubt a lot of people know them off the top of their head

and since you are talking about freshman stats ...

Quote :
"earning Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year honors. He led the team with 1,101 yards on 245 carries (4.5 avg.), setting school single-season records with 18 touchdowns"

which puts him first all time in TDs in a season in my post above
his 18 in a season was a freshman record for the ACC until that dude from VT put up 20
not sure if that was a national record or not

Is my biggest argument against him.

That's pedestrian at the NFL level, and even more so in college.

Compare to Clarett (5.6), Lewis (5.5), Rodgers (4.8), Peterson (5.7) and McFadden (6.3)

Frank Gore was ridiculous with 9.3, albeit on only 62 carries

Truth is we will never know how good he could have been. He may have played 2 or 3 games max at a hundred percent for his entire career. But, durability is a key component with being a great back.
