for the horse betting it seems to work better if after every win you go and save the game... dont know if this is because of the time that elapses or just leaving the building helps for some reason

i bet on the horse with the lowest odds. whether that is 12:1 or 11:1, doesnt matter. i used the strategy and it worked, but it took me several times to get it to pay off. i got to near broke a couple times. then my horse won 3 times in a row and i stopped before i blew it somehow.

still haven't been able to play this game yet but was wondering, are you able to fly over/land on the roofs of all the buildings, or are there still some elevations which can't be reached? that always bugged me in vice city. its not a big deal either way, just was curious and haven't seen it anything on it.

^hell nah the areas are crazy to explore. last night i found a mountain, chiliad i think, and there was a parachute on top, so naturally, i jumped the hell off and floated my way over the city. but to answer you question directly, you can go higher than the highest point.

Yea you can go atop anything you want. Any building any mountain anything. You can do it the hard way by parachuting, but later on youll get a jetpack and you can go wherever the hell you want.

Holy Shit.
We just found the most fun thing to do:
2 player kiling sprees.
Go to your girlfriend's place and plug up the second controller and start shooting.
On a motorcycle you both can shoot stuff, or, one person can drive a pickup with the other in the back shooting with better accuracy.
As a side benefit, it automatically adds 10% to that girl's progress bar. (At least with Denise it does...)

I cant give any certian figures, but I'm in Las Venturas doing missions for the casino. My stats say I've been playing almost 30 hours and that im at about 50% completion. Although Im sure a lot of that 50% remaining is all the extra stuff like the optional races and medals at schools and stuff. I never thought I'd say this for a game...but theres almost too much stuff to do.

last night I jumped the fence at the airport, flew the dodo to the golden gate bridge, jumped off the bridge, stole a sailboat, then a reefer, then the speedboat, drove the boat up onto the land of the little island at the northwest of the map, grabbed a police bike and drove to las venturas with 4 stars constantly dodging police cruisers and SUVs, bought a cowboy hat, headed south, jumped off the bridge to los santos, swam to shore, headed to one of those country towns and bought a house.

I didnt know until last night that the "islands" were all 3 of the different cities...
