lol... Adams is not "too" small. He's about 5'11 180lbs, and strong as hell for his size. There are a ton of guys his size playing D1 football. It's not often you have 2 RB's the size of Toney and Andre.

Amato has told him he would get playing time, whether it be RB/Slot/KOR/PR/CB. Adams is a bigtime recruit for us.

The only reason he considered ECU was because he didn't know if he would have the grades. As soon as he found out he would qualify, he dropped ECU.

It will be Wake/State/MD for Adams. Wake is a good fit, but he won't play in front of crowds or won't go to bowl games. Plus, Wake has Micah Andrews coming back to be their man at RB.

BTW, Bond is a great pickup. He'll be a very good WR/Slot guy for the Pack. If we can land Adams then we will have snagged a couple of the top players in NC, plus about 6 of the Top 100 from Florida.

lol, so a reason he won't go to wake is that they have a returning RB, while we have baker and brown?

I smell a double standard.

Not really. Wake lets one RB get the vast majority of their carries. Andrews is a good back, but he spends most of his time on the bench. Chuck, on the other hand, has demonstrated that he has no problem with starting freshmen or with rotating through our RBs.

Shit they didn't wait long to announce the commitment for Bond. He landed at 5:30 and it was on the website like an hour later, and the fucking airport where we met him was 20 minutes from town.

BTW Lemarcus is a pretty damn good kid. I went to one game, and couldn't remember his name in the other thread I had started. I know that the coach for.....I want to say UNC or GT was here for him as well. I hooked them up with a ride about a month ago, but something came up and they ended up rescheduling the trip. Dunno what the deal was there, but glad to see he will be playing for us.

Josh Adams would be a solid pickup but damn.......between handing off the ball to Toney and Andre I don't see how he's gonna get any touches.

Andre is one of the top 15 backs in the country. You have to give him the damn ball.

jsut got this off espn insider about bond...they describe his a RB for his team in HS but project him as a WR or a corner...also as it states below he has moved to QB since the starter got hurt so he is very versatile and according to their take an incredible athlete

they don't have one thing bad to say about him except his size for RB and he won't play that anyway

Evaluation: Bond is a change of pace type back with exceptional overall ability and versatility. He is a darter type back with very good quickness and excellent speed. Has superb change of direction skills and fluid hips. Is elusive in the open field and will make defenders miss. Shows very good initial burst to the line of scrimmage and does a nice job of hitting the hole hard for a smaller back. Is a tough runner for his size and does a nice job of avoiding big hits between the tackles. He has excellent lateral movement and is very shifty once he gets to the second level. He has excellent hands and a good feel for the passing game. Is a tough blocker that will get overmatched at times but isn't afraid to mix it up. Is as good a receiver as any back in this class and is a weapon in the slot. Can get vertical and cause mismatches in the passing game. He is also an ideal punt returner and has the athleticism to possibly play corner as well at the next level. Is a threat in the open field in many roles. He is undersized for an every down back and durability could be a concern at the next level, but versatility is his biggest asset. As a senior, continues to impress with his ability to score everytime he touches the ball. Reminds us of a quicker Warrick Dunn. His abilityt to stop and start with no watsed motion on a dime is rare. Again, he would make a great corner and as a runner and returner he can change a game, but his size will be a concern.

Notes: Conference MVP....All-State...All-Conference...Has moved to QB due to injury to starter...Has thrown 2 TD's and ran for 2 more since moving there 3 games ago...As of 10/12 has returned 6 ounts and 2 kickoffs for touchdowns....has intercepted 5 passes and returned 2 for touchdowns...Has no been on or set any visits so far, waiting till end of the season....

Well, this recruiting year for football has hit rock bottom for me

we just lost our last O-Lineman commit (Wischnewski)sp? to fucking Florida Atlantic, thats right Florida Atlantic

Not South Florida/Central Florida, but Florida Atlantic, basically a community college in Boca Raton

FUCK

I guess I enjoyed the up years of recruiting too much, sucks to go back to the O'Cain days when shit like this used to happen left and right

that sucks...we really needed to build some o-line depth for the coming years

was there a specified reason or anything like that? if he could have come to an ACC school why would he ever switch to Fla. Atlantic?

closer to home is the only reason I have heard

Staff will probably down play this but when he committed there was heavy talk that he was a great addition, a great character guy, and he sounded pumped to play FSU

anyways, our recruiting is depressing this year, very depressing

hopefully the expectations are low, and the win column is high this year

I don't understand why it is down this year. Any WR could come here and play right away if they were good enough, as well as at LB

Does anyone else think that Doc Holliday has anything to do with this?

^we have plenty of WR's

not enough Lineman and LB's

we need at least 7 wins this season, some positive press, and recruits to see the stadium complete to get out of this downward spiral

What a douche bag....FAU??????

I knew our program was going back into the shitter, but FAU??????? Come on man...be serious. This guy claims that he can get immediate PT at FAGU...I have news for him. Most fucking offensive linemen dont play untill their junior year...at least.

The report on Packpride said his Line coach was furious

"we have plenty of WR's"

you're right, just not many proven ones so I would think a really good WR recruit would commit here thinking he could play right away knowing Clark and T. Hall are gone

and yeah, our o-line coach was pretty mad

This is the worst recruiting class since coCain. We dont have a 4 or 5 star and dont really have a chance to get one. Great job Chuch, i see now how much losing Holliday hurt us, just look at Fla's recruiting class.

Brandon Spikes, Marcus Gilbert, Carl Johnson

All recruited by Holliday.

[Edited on January 25, 2006 at 12:02 PM. Reason : We wouldve had a chance at Spikes at least. Holliday basically ripped him from Bama]

We were 42 last night on Scout.com rankings

We're 45 this morning on Scout.com after losing that FAGU fag

I dont know...He's been recruiting against us for a few years now, and we ended up with a decent class last year. I think its just a product of shitty performance on the field and fans getting pissed.

Some big OL 6'6" from Lumberton is supposed to commit today. He is choosing between us, VT and South Carolina. I heard this on the N&O.

bigger impact than anyone knew....he's a great recruiter but i've heard that as good as he was as a recruiter, he was just as worse as a coach. Kids hated him once they got here. But damn, I wish he was still recruiting for us.

either Stone needs to have a tremendous year or go ahead and get Burke ready to take over and claim he is the new PR just to have a chance at gettin us back to decent

offensive backfield and WR corps are shaping up, O line and QB need to follow suit

Adams to Wake.

Guess he wants to be the man at RB. Even though they have Micah Andrews for the next couple of years.

Adams would have been one hell of a slot back or CB at State.

I'd like to hear Chuck spin this class this year. There is very little to be excited about other than Burke. If this is a sign of things to come, then it's time to start rebuilding and just kick Stone to the curb.

Stars are meaningless... offer list is a much better indicator.

His isn't fantabulous, but it'll do, considering how this year is going

I'm not really worrying about the recruiting...yeah, this class isn't on the same level as some of our last few, but we got a good passing QB prospect and some guys who look like underrated talent.

If we show improvement on the field this year, next year's class will be better. If we don't show improvement...well, then we don't deserve better.

^ Honestly though how the hell are we getting out recruited by Wake and Duke. No team that honestly expects to regularly go to a bowl should ever be out recruited by either of those teams.

^^ You still have to some type of contigency plan and go after a few more two star guys instead of recruiting against Miami, FSU, and UF for every damn 4 and 5 star player.

I wonder how many of our chips we really put in on guys like Brandon Spikes and Brent Schaeffer. I know spikes never had a bunch of interest, so probably not as many on him, but Brent really could have taken a lot of recruiting attention that ended up being a waste...for the second time. You hear a lot of the top guys say "it was really close between so and so", and the team they commit to end up being the one that recruited the hardest. It just seems like we lost a lot of the "tweeners" this year.

Oh well, one down recruiting year isnt going to hurt in the long run, we just need to bounce back next year and have a good season...especially since we had a pretty good class last year.

You cant possibly expect to haul a good class coming off a losing season then an average season plus losing all your assistants. Besides our facilities which is taking forever, there's no other selling point.

you can't recruit great every single year...some years after a great class some players are going to shy away from coming because they are worried they will never play

on another note, i was just nosing around scout and saw that josh adams signed with freaking wake forest. i thought he had some offers from big time schools?
